I won these KYB shocks on eBay this morning. I've never seen any like them before, has anyone else seen them before? What are they used for? Are they worth rooting around with? The previous owner had them on a flat tracker. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KYB-Shocks-13-5-Dirt-Track-Flat-track-/121227274958?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=W6oL8bhDhauAfFNpALTeZe0sHGc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc (http://www.ebay.com/itm/KYB-Shocks-13-5-Dirt-Track-Flat-track-/121227274958?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=W6oL8bhDhauAfFNpALTeZe0sHGc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc)

Mark you are the old shock absorber king ;-)
-
They are 90 % two Mono shocks , Mark
What do you mean Walter? They certainly look like early monoshocks but they came off a twin shock flat tracker.
-
I just had a thought that they may be front shocks off a snowmobile or quad.
-
They'll live on the rear of one of my flat trackers so they won't see much hard duty.
-
Walter, what type of rebound and compression dampening characteristics are typical of shocks used in the front suspension of a snowmobile or quad as we suspect these are? Do you think they'd be OK for the rear of a twin shock flat tracker or would a revalve be on the cards? Of course it's a big ask without knowing those particular shocks but a general ballpark idea would be interesting.

Walter I've Googled all over cyberspace and I can't find anything close to them anywhere. It'll be interesting to check them out once they get here.
