Hi guys,
Can you please offer advice on insuring VMX bikes.
Emailed Shannon's twice during the year, no reply. Gave the rep my details at BMCC a few weeks ago, no response, so they don't seem to want any business.
Cheers

NRMA have vintage / veteran bike insurance ;

RING Shannons,
RM500 = $112 for $5500 cover...."laid up cover", i.e. wheel off the bike, whilst in garage only if that helps.
RM465 = $98 for 4g cover, same rules above.
Z900 = 10g cover $129 year covered anywhere comprehensive
Tiger 800 = $260 12g cover anywhere comprehensive.

Insurance company reviews from others insured with them mean nothing, the ONLY people who you need to seek advice from is those who have made (or attempted) a claim!! Otherwise you're just listening to people who are "happy" with their insurance company because they get their bills on time and it doesn't cost much :-\

Mine's a recommendation for sure, have had a payout with them, they did the ususal looking into details then paid up, premium went up for next three years as per usual.
The thing that is helpful with this sort of post is that a LOT of people dont insure because they think, like i used to, that insurance costs a LOT MORE per bike, i WAS PAYING more than 600 a year with another bike insurer, i now have 4 bikes with Shannons on one policy and paying near enough same price, recommendation from a happy customer, YOU BET. This is what forums are for Brendan, to discuss these types of issues.
now, its Christmas, Ted has reminded me in a roundabout way that we can never be too nice to each other, SO MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, hope you have a safe and prosperous New Year!
Back to BING CROSBY now, he sings nicely doesnt he?

Shannon's , we have many a policy with them. The more you have the better the premium .bikes, cars and even our Inclosed trailer.best to do it over the phone.

All my bikes including VMX are with shannons. And yes I have had a claim. No issues. On a side note, I also now have my household policy with them. Saved $300.00 and got better cover. Their policy also gives you automatic $10,000 enthusists cover. Like me, if your shed catches fire, you get $10,000 worth of cover on your spare parts, memribillia etc. Don't get that with anybody else, and it was a saviour for me!!!

One of my sheds did catch fire and burn out. I got nothing for the 16 bikes I lost and the two tonne + of spare parts as" Insufficient evidence and identification supplied on proposal forms"
Strangely my household contents paid up for a replacement shed, fence (50% neighbours must claim on their insurance for the other50%!!) lawn mower, chainsaw compressor, tools, shed vacuum cleaner etc etc.
Insurance damn handy when ya need it, if the pricks can't weasel out of paying........... >:(
Oh I had to pay my own AND THEIR court costs!!! Fill out any forms to the nth degree my Friends.
In fairness as I have had no dealings with them, it was not the company" Shannons"
