Title: Toys (not VMX)
Post by: bigk on November 28, 2013, 02:50:50 pm
For those of you who don't know, as well as restore VMX bikes, I also manufacture a unique inboard skiboat, the Prestige Ultima X. Designed & built by myself in 1999, it's a sports car on water & hell fun. This is the coming seasons demo boat. We only do a very limited run each year to ensure the high standard of build quality. The website is www.prestigeskiboats.com
Cheers,
K

Wow, i've seen plenty of these in the past and even suggested to few mates looking for a new/used boat to consider them and never new it was YOU making them!! ;D No wonder all the ones ive seen advertised were in, Bendigo, Kyneton, Echuca, Shep etc etc.... ;D. Great stuff mate, hope you get a few orders for the upcoming season. Trying as hard as i can now to get time off to book my usual week up at Deni for the holdays, skiing, lazing by the river and enjoying bevvies daily under a 40+ degree sun...love it  ;) :D

I designed & built the pattern & moulds for this in 1999, sold about 150 of them over the years. I have just made some subtle but functional refinements & updates for 2013. The Ultima is unique in that it is a small boat by today's standards.  17'2" long but with as much (sometimes more) interior room than most of the 20ft plus boats, legal for 6 adults. The overall length on the trailer is exactly 19' which is no accident, it was built to fit in a standard 20' garage. Anyone (even your wife) can launch & retrieve it by themselves. Fantastic slalom & bare foot wake, not too bad for the average wake boarder, but 3 fat women in the back makes for a much bigger curl to launch off. Throw one of these into a 90 degree turn at 50mph & it's like it's on rails. The drive sells them every time. Bigger is not always better. Boating/skiing is a great family sport, as your kids & usually all their mates are out there with you, better than not knowing where they are or what they're up to.

No heat exchanger but thermo controlled, marinised engine. If someone wanted to put one in salt a heat exchange system can be fitted. There have been a few put in salt as is over the years, but you really need to be diligent with fresh water flushing afterwards. The big black things on the side of the motor are the water cooled marine manifolds.
