That's right Folks, to get the Vinduro year off with a BANG, the Toowoomba Motorcycle Club are doing it again, same old bikes, same old fun, same grumpy old men. The event is open to Pre 90's bikes, Enduro, Trail and MX bikes welcome. Bring one, bring as many as you want. Trials bikes are also welcome as we have some excellent trials sections to test all levels of rider and bike.
Date: 15-16 February 2014
Venue: TMCC Club Grounds Murphy's Creek. Follow signs from Murphy's Creek Pub in the East and West from New England highway intersection on Murphy's Creek Road.
Camping from Friday night, camping encouraged. Riders Briefing 12.30pm Saturday and 9am Sunday.
MA License is Required, if you don't have a MA Licence, MA Single Event Recreational Licences will available at venue for $25.00. Entry Fee is only $40.
Contact Mick Jaeger 0421276875 or Lawrie Asgill 0421510897 for more information.
This is a recreational event, not a competition event. No one will be timed or will you be expected to complete 20 laps of a set course. The Vinduro loop will be suitable for all old bikes from twin shock to mono shock however, it will also provide some challenges. There will be hard and easy options for all riders and bikes. Like the last two TMCC events, it will be run from the TMCC block at Murphy's Creek.
Check out the December 13 issue of Trail Zone for a run down on the last TMCC event, the October 13 Vinduro.

I've just got the MQ Permit, and all is on track for the Murphy's Creek Vinduro. I plan to run in the course in reverse with a few new single bike tracks flowing in and out of the trees, should be fun. We have also completed out BIG new Shed.

Hey groovers, I am looking at going and spectating, so have a couple of question. What are the camping cost/arrangements and is there a cost for spectators? Will food/drinks be available?
Thanks< I'll keep searching the web for more info :)

G'day Groover Rod, there is no charge for camping or for spectators, it's BYO everything. We will have toilets on site, but no running water or catering. The pub has good meals, or you can Bar-B-Q your own food at our great camping spot next to the flowing creek. Camping is from Friday night.
The course is basically being run in reverse from our last ride, I've deleted some of the previous sections and have put in some new tracks, one track in particular hasn't been ridden in over 20 years. I'm yet to clear it, but it looks promising. Overall it will be a little bit tighter than previously but it should flow very well and I'm looking forward to getting the Husky out and ripping into it. We look forward to catching up with you all on the 15th and 16th.
Lawrie ;D ;D ;D

Looking forward to the ride as last years was great. Mick & Lawrie you do a great job and cheers for your efforts.
Bill.

Yip thanks to Lawrie and the crew for a great weekends ride
Real happy with the bike, had to be better than last year, got her of the ute when we arrived, started her up and she refused to rev out, ( cdi went )
This year 2 laps saturday and 3 an a half sunday ( the half was I took a wrong turn and cut half the course,Lawrie couldnt believe how I left after Noel and come back so far in front ), have to remember that short cut for next time ;)
-
yes it was a grait ride bit to hot i will be there next time thanks for puting it on guys
-
Great day - cheers to Lawrie and Mick and the TMCC boys - awesome course - will be back next year, Cheers.
-
What a great weekend, Wade and myself made the trip up from Glen Innes, well worth the drive . One of the best vinduro loops i have ridden. It was a bit hot and with a lap taking us about 40 minutes ,you certainly felt it by the end of the weekend. Thanks to the Toowoomba M.C. and the friendly locals who invited us to sit around saturday night to have a few drinks and talk bulls##t. Top weekend.
-
What a great way to start the year. Another great track put together by guys who know what their doing.
Good long loop, the dust wasn't an issue and the 40Deg made it tuff in a good way, after three laps you sure knew you had done something. Which is what you want at a non comp event. More riders at this one and I'm sure there will be even more at the next one.
With this one being so good and the Metelink Sprint it would be great to have one more club do a Vinduro or two.
-
Well done Lawrie and co, good event, good track, maybe alittle too tight in places, and good mates. Had a ball. Thanks to all concerned. Cheers Brett.
-
What NSR said, great to see the NSW guys come up for a ride. This is a top event so if you've got a vinduro bike you need to get there next time around.thanks to the guys and gals from TMCC.Also get along to NSRs enduro sprint at Connondale which will be an awesome event as well.
-
Thanks to Laurie and the gang at TMCC for a great weekend.
Probably the most extreme heat combined with tight riding I've probably ever done...... :o
Loved the track especially the additional Hard (to find) bit Laurie chucked in just before the top of the rock staircases ..... I now know what a pin ball feels like as you bounce off trees snaking your way through the tight single track.. great stuff. :-X The old '84 XR200 took it in its stride. The IT250D struggled a bit not having the ground clearance.
Then there was Lantana Lane, the loose rocky downhills and the great creek beds. 15 klms of fantastic riding.
Can you turn the temperature down a bit for the next one in September though?? Can't wait.
:) :)
-
Thanks TMCC,
That was an excellent loop, with a bit of nearly everything thrown in.
Sorry I couldn't be there for Saturday, Valentine's obligations.
You guys are doing a great job, can't wait 'til next time.
Cheers, Daryl

Thanks to all who attended the HOTTEST :-[ :-[ Vinduro of the year. It's great to see the positive feed back from you on this forum, plus it's good to know you liked the section my wife cut through the scrub for you boys to ride, and she thought that vinduro riders are soft, ha, ha. The heat sure did make the ride a little tougher than expected, but true to form you old enduro riders didn't hesitate for one minute and attacked the course with gay abandon. Those beers sure did taste nice afterwards. We are all ready planning our next Vinduro for the 13th and 14th of September 2014, so stay tuned for more info as it comes to hand.
