Title: RM500 sub frame question
Post by: zorroz on November 22, 2013, 01:17:30 pm
I'm trying to work out whether or not my RM500E sub frame is bent up, down or both ways. I initially thought the left rear tube (looking from behind bike) was bent upwards but it has the tell tale signs of been bent down with a crease under neath. So I'm thinking they are both bent downwards and the right rear tube is bent further down.

Can anyone with a RM500 take side shot of the sub frame with side plates removed?

If you could that would be great. Googling some pics it seems the frame rail pont upwards way more than my 250e does. Just need a good side on and rear shot to confirm.

Here's a pic I found on the net but need side on

PM sent thanks. A shot at the rear and from both sides would be great.

If I was fixing it I would be trying to get someone with a good original to get the measurement either from the swingarm pivot or the rocker arm pivot up to the bolt hole tabs on the rear of the subframe.
The triangulation from hole centre to hole centre will get it right.
I would also seek to get the measurement from at least 2 sources as the sub frame could most likely be damaged on other frames too.
