In 2011 i shipped this from Southampton depot to my door here for a bit over 500 pounds and they built the crate .
I just delivered the bike (disassembled) and the other stuff to them and they took care of the rest .
At this end NZ there was a fee to clean the tyres and that was all .
I think your importing rules are tougher though (if you do it by the book )
Crate was way bigger than i needed , size and weight are written on the box .
Shipping was based on cubic size rather than weight ( up to a point that was very heavy )

I used the same shipper as Jimmy, www.chasmortimer.co.uk (http://www.chasmortimer.co.uk) and he was expensive but he was extremely efficient and hassle free. It's always going to be more expensive getting bikes and parts out of the UK and Europe than out of the USA because of the distance but the upside of dealing with Chas was that he handled every little detail. All I had to do was pay him and wait at my front door for my stuff to arrive. Chas is currently shipping some bikes from Sweden for Jonesy which would have been a logistics nightmare if not for Chas and his company.

I need someone in England to pick the bike up and crate it, do these shipper that you suggest do just that.
-
where is the bike? I am in Bristol if that helps. It can be sent here if needs be. Chas is coming to see me soon. That said if it is miles away just get it sent straight to Chas. He can get it collected or I can offer details of some good blokes who move bikes round the UK daily. the bases are well covered.

Dave will the yamaha be for sale now?
Ah come on Bazza, you know Dave has already sold that yammie years ago and only just recently came by it again. That Yammie is Dave's little baby, he said in front of everyone he's gunna race it.
-
Bazza, the Yamaha is completely stripped down, my friend will take the frame next week end and cut the unwanted mounts off, ready to be blasted and painted.
The bike in England is the Dot, I spoke with the owner about it, I have decided not to buy it, next week I will be picking up my other bike that I got from USA.

Mick, I raced the dt2mx in 72, It was given to me to ride, never owned one or bought one, the yammie is not my baby.
