Secured by one bolt or two ???
-
it,s missing the moulded lug that goes over the shift shaft , u could probably make a lug ( or whatever it is called ) from alum and pop rivet to the inside of the cover
-
Thanks mate - I was pretty sure it had 2 fixing points, but didn't have anything to compare with. I will continue the hunt >:(
-
if its a front sprocket cover off a H i`ll give you one for a schooner
-
I'll buy you a whole carton if it's complete and in good nick ted ;) Is off a 250 H
-
eBay item #230256193544
-
YZ250H....it is in perfect nick....still has Made in Japan stamped on it If you wanna check what parts should look like or how it all goes together go to the Yamaha Parts Catalogue ( start at www.speedandsportinc.com and go to parts catalogue and then onto yamaha )
This cover is off a 465 H but it is the same part # as the 250 H
At some meetings they don`t allow you to race without a cover fitted....so to get me thru scrutineering i will send you my ( complete ) one and you send me your one.....all for the price of a schooner
PM me your mailing address
CHEERS

Small problem Ted. The one in the picture is off Ebay - I was going to bid on it. I don't have one at all (yet), so the swap is a no go. Still happy to buy you the schooner though ;D.
Thanks for the pic CG and the tip Ted. I looked in the yamaha catalog, but the sprocket cover has the bottom obscured in the picture - hence the dopey question.
I will keep looking thanks. The one on Ebay is $30US postage - I smell a rip off.
-
PM me your mailing address....it is yours
-
PM sent Ted.
-
Cover sent YZ 250 H
I also sent your address to Amway, Readers Digest, Demtel, Boys Town art union, Home Beautiful and stacks more, I hope you don`t mind.
Just Kidding buddy
Cheers
-
:D :D :D
I have enough trouble with those pricks as it is. A silent phone number is a good thing and well worth the money 8). Amway and readers digest would be told to FO anyway ;D
Your a top man Ted - thanks heaps. Now ... about those beers ::)
-
OK...you owe me a beer at CD 6
-
How about we share quite a few JD's together ;D
I'll buy some rums too to keep the missus happy ;)
-
Tony
With the Tele marketers I ask them for thier # at home and I'l ring em back later as I'm busy ;D

With the Tele marketers I ask them for thier # at home and I'l ring em back later as I'm busy ;D
this pisses me off big time and i have a silent # so..
i just pass the phone to our 3 year old daughter who can talk underwater with a muzzle on
or
i tell them i'm doing a survey on telemarketers and ask them shit loads of very personel questions like when they lost their virginity. fight fire with a flame thrower
-
Place them in a queue and tell them they will be attended to by recipient of call as soon as possible
YZ250H....Looks like we will get in trouble again for drifting off topic...HAH
-
Not sure Ted, but I think the originator gets the call. As usual I couldn't give a rats ;D
There is a great sound clip that I will try to dig up and attach. When the telemarketer rings the guy pretends he has rung a murder scene. Very funny I'll see if I can find it.
I think I have managed to get on the "don't call this guy" list of a few of them - a few carefully chosen words usually works wonders. Silent number is good, but they still call on the mobile >:(.
-
YZ 250 H you get that cover yet?
-
Not yet mate. I think the post office has something against me. They tend to not issue notifications when parcels arrive >:(. Usually takes a few days longer to get up here. I will go and harrass the (again) on Friday.
Cheers
-
Hey Tony i got the dvd of CD5 and it's works thanks . I take back those things i said about you . Hah pigsarse.
-
You'll keep Hilly ;D. I'm sure the opportunity will eventually arise for payback :P
Still no notification Ted, but that means bugger all around here.
-
YZ250H...PM me your fax # and i will send you my copy from the Post Office so you can take to yours and chase it up
Cheers
-
PM sent Ted

News scoop...YZ250H acquires the last 81 model sprocket cover in existence and Australia Post fit it to one of their postie bikes....priceless
-
If he's got it fitted to the postie bike I will take him out with the bullbar of the Nissan (as long as I don't break the cover doing it)
-
As long as you haven`t got fishing rod holders on the bullbar i reckon that would be legal in QLD...you redneck nutbags...hah
-
YZ250H...Do you know anything about the 250H in Brisbane advertised in the ozvmx classifieds...i reckon if i could hide the money from the rum bandit i`d buy it
-
Yeah, we are living in the very heart of red neck country up here mate. Every second vehicle on the road is a landcruiser ute with a dog cage on the back and pig hunting competitions feature at many of the local pubs throughout the year - shooting of pigs not permitted :o. It's not all bad though. I can go down to the local river and catch a barramundi (just have to watch out for crocs) and the lifestyle is very relaxed. That's why we don't get too stressed when things don't arrive in the post (which the sprocket cover didn't). If it's not here today it will get here tomorrow :). Everything takes 2 weeks to arrive wether it is from next door or the US.
Don't know anything about that 250 in the classified mate. There's a pretty good chance it is a forum member from here. We should get whoever it is to post some more pictures and tell us the story. Price is interesting. Who knows how much it costs to restore on of these. I haven't counted on purpose in case my missus finds out ::) I hope mine will be nearly up to the standard of your 465 by the time I'm finished (nearly). You and DJ have set the bar pretty high.
The 250 has so many parts in common with the 465 you could nearly buy a dunger and do it with the left-overs from the 465 resto. I suppose you want that sprocket cover back now ;D
-
The 465 owes me just over $13,000 in hard earned ( paid to others ), 45 hrs labour over the last 4 days to CD 5 and heaven knows how many hours faxing, e-mailing,ringing suppliers and visiting wreckers.
So in true terms this thing probably cost me $20,000.00 which i would never get back and i don`t give a shit either. What it means to me is when i said to Bill Forsyth at CD 5 is it worth you taking a shot of it and his response was " fork Yeah, stay here i`m going to get my camera gear". Acknowlegement of a job well done far outweighs the cost in my mind.
I`ve seen a lot of very nice restos in the mag that come with the price tag between 1 and 3K...if anyone can fully restore a bike for that amount i`ll stand rooting.
-
Fully agree mate - I think we actually spoke about this at CD5 (we didn't know each other then).
If you are happy with and proud of it that's all that matters. To me that is half of the VMX thing... the resto. All the work and research and tears (speaking personally) of making this friggin thing actually work. Then there is the other half of it - (that I am yet to experience) the chance to thrash the crap out of it.
Still heading that way, got most of the bits - just a bit of mechanics and I am there.
-
Sprocket cover turned up today Ted. My new prized possession ;D. Thanks heaps mate you are a legend.
