Title: Some YZ125G stuff?
Post by: Quicksilver on June 04, 2008, 10:03:41 am
Can someone help me out with or point me in right direction to get a pipe, barrel, head, crank and sidecovers in white for YZ125G 1980.

Can trade if you like provided I have something you need.

Genuine 125 top end would be great but if need be I will build a YZ175 from IT barrel. I gather if went that way bike would need to raced in 250 class?

I have some side covers, one has a small crack but you can have them for the cost of postage

Crank is the same as 125F, I think.
After that they went to the shorter conrod and then started fiddling with the length of the drive side shaft (to drive water pumps and power valve mechs). Pretty sure an H crank with an early rod will work.

I'm also after white side covers and a head for a 125G...

God no!

Ah, Scott and I get along pretty well, and try to share info as much as possible (although he knows a f$%k load more than I do).

OK, I can profess to probably owning more 1979-1981 NOS YZ Yamaha Plastics than anyone in the world (I have been collecting it since 1990)... I am just about to do a deal with Scott to buy all that he needs to be able to reproduce all that series of plastics, so it wont be long until all this stuff will be available from Scott off the shelf.

You are a good man E74.  That will let everyone in the world with one of these little beauties have access to some decent plastics (finally).  You can bet you will be seeing them on all my bikes.
I wonder if he is going to make the opaque mudguard that goes over the airbox on the 250 / 465 G/H.  They are like rocking horse shit - apparently they were even breaking when the bikes were new.
Sorry to hijack your thread Quicky - I will shut up now  ::)
