Hi Tony Only way to get a good pic is way down low.
The camera I used then which I purchased in 1974, was a Canon FTBn (no motor drive) with a Canon FD SC 135mm f/3.5 and I still have them along with all my other cameras I ever used.
Camera collecting is my hobby now and has been for sometime. Cheers Peter

There's another one living across the road from me and I went to school with one who went on to kill his Nan.

I'm an old Annandale Leichardt member and well remember Steve Pearce as a very fast C grader. In fact I bought his very quick Gary Tredwell ported methanol burning '74 250 Maico which would probably be one bike prior to the MX400-B he's riding in the photo. He was one of the first of the Annandale Leichardt 'Maico Mob' to defect to the Japanese products.

Don't worry about the walking dead.... Anyone notice how much taller the back of the CR is? I'm sure there would be a lot more '76 Elsinores out racing if they could have that much suspension travel now.

awsome pics mate
all lot of riders back in the 70's say the same thing we were to busy riding and it was only random that you ever had and photos taken unless they were on a little instamatic plastic camera some of them very long distance and can just make out the bike and rider , by your then girl friend cause she was bored outa her mind watching you go round and round and round i know ive got half a dozen in 12 year of racing that you can make out who it is these photos are a credit to you mate
you bring a lot of joy to a lot of riders mate places with some of these special events and track we couldnt make it to and other places like : (old bar( come in dripping with oil ) , greenhills ( pit corner shit no brakes) , failford ( first time we ever saw table tops) , batar creek (one of the best nateral terain track this side of the black stump) , nemingah ( down hill wheelies being to by officials to stop chucking them yeah right ) , pine park( stuff up one turn and you will come in last) carroo park (my favourite come in dripping of grape juice, not to mention mount fuji ), grafton and dungog natural terrain, nepean ( laying down on the tank of a rm370 heaven)
:'( that we are not still there
;D we can relive through vmx
keep em coming please

I cant photograph to save my life, but
when I was a wipper-snapper my bro-in-law used to take me to the meets(Oran Park International spectacular etc, etc, etc).
He was a keen 35mm shooter.
I asked his wife last night, she said "yes he would still have the negatives some where! Would you like me to ask if you could have them them?".
So fingers Crossed.
We nearly had super eight movies of the late sixties, early seventies, including nationals.
My best bud Charlie(Mark) had set up a projector etc with a modern digital to recapture them from the wall.
We were just about ready for the popcorn, when six months after Maggoo passed, Charlie suddenly died from a blood clot. Pissed off, I was, top bloke. His family through out the projector, Bell moto helmets etc in the clean out.
His mate still has the films, but in his company I struggle to resist the urge to kill him. I don't see how I could sit through hundreds of hours with him, without getting 20yrs behind bars. In the mean time the films that he wont let out of his sight continue to rot I guess.

JohnnyO got the Stephen Gall, Geoff Worrell and Brian Martin right in that three shot on the first page, but what about the guy standing next to Brian.

Firko as you probably know Ross sold his business (Off Road Imports) to a long standing employee (Rick Andrews Son) a few years ago now. I worked with both Brian and Ross for a few years in the early seventys. Since then I have crossed paths with Ross some how or other every five or ten years either via the electric telephone or in person. Whilst I have not had any contact with Brian for approx 35 yrs it was good to catch up with both of them for a yarn at last years round of Aust Moto GP. Brian had ridden (VFR800)from Adelaide where he now lives (and has done for a long time) and is in the finance caper of some sort and Ross had ridden (BMW K1300)from Sydney. Ross enjoying retirement and Brian enjoying what ever he does in the finance game. Neither has changed a bit.

Yamaha. A lot of us used Yamaha hubs on our Maicos back in the day. My Maico's 19" dirt track wheel has a Yammy hub today.

I was thinking the same. Scasey has mixed with advertising types his whole adult life and in fact was in the game himself for a long time. This ad has the late Michael Robinsons DNA all over it though.
