Looking for a flywheel / rotor for a KDX 250 83 - 85
Part No 21007-1065
Can also be identified by FP 5173 which will be stamped on the flywheel. This is a flywheel ID No
Any help would be appreciated, it’s for a ‘keeper’

Airbox's finished are they? 8)
-
Come on Geoff, how many other KDX's run the same flywheel ;-)
-
He's disappeared to go check the mail in his RM370 post box. ::)
-
Officially only the 83, 84 & 85 KDX 250's ran the same flywheel.
The US didn't receive the KDX in 85 so doesn't show up on their lists but it is the same bike as the 84.
Also looking for a kickstart knuckle
It seems the knuckle was only for the 84 & 85 model KDX 250 but the shaft came from these models so the complete kick start assembly from these models should be okay.
Any parts or leads appreciated

Still have to put the new one up, after all, thats all RM's are good for

If it is correct that the 200 and 250 share the same shaft, then I'm pretty sure that I will have a kiskstarter knuckle for you.
-
Will try to gather some details to determine how compatible it will be.
-
Bastard.....bout time you mowed the grass.......wait till I tell Roger!!!!
-
Geoff, if ya want an alloy one,use knuckle/lever from '89 KX250, from memory just need washer/spacer behind it.
-
Thanks Grunter, that's something we will look into.
Lots of post 90 flywheels on US e-bay but unsure of how compatible they would be with the (much) older model. Anyone have this sort of weird knowledge?

I have a 1983 kdx 200 fly wheel on my kdx 175 the timing mark don't line up that's all and I have a side stand mount 1983 200
-
There's a lot of similarity between the various model of KDX200 FWs (and 175 as noted), I wouldn't be surprised if there was similarity between the various models of KDX250.
-
I had wondered about the early 200 flywheels fitting the KDX 175's
I tried an 86 200 flywheel on my KDX 175 but the crank taper had grown in size by then. Stator plate was slightly bigger too.
I will have to check if the 86 200 flywheel taper is similar to the 250 taper
