Okay all you Yamaha Gurus, Iv'e got a YZ 490 with a rear disc brake which to me looks like it's original ,what years & models did these bikes come fitted with rear discs? Cheers Lou

yz490? or WR500?
the WR came with the rear disk as standard and is virtually the same bike. it's either the WR and your confused or someones done a conversion.

Someone could have dicked around with it, I bought it cheap a while ago and havn't gone near it since then but Iv'e always wondered what model it was, when I get home next I'll get the numbers off it to determine what it realy is, Thanks for the info Cheers

could be a late model YZ490 as they went up to around 1987 "T" Model so it could be standard.
