Firco, I remember that as well as Jilliby had a jump coming out of the dam just before the finish line. Will have to dig up the pics from Jilliby as I think I may have that shot. Jilliby was one of my favourite tracks and had a bit of everything.
This pic was taken at the 1975 International meet at Amaroo Park in November in which Gaston Rahier attended. #B on a Suzuki I think it was one of Gaston’s buddies from Belgium but not sure so if someone has a program from that meet would love a copy of the riders list as I have about 10 rolls of negs to name.

He was listed as 'O' in the Wallan program but that shot is not from Wallan. Is it Amaroo or Qld and did he change numbers (letters)? He sort of looks Japanese though! J

The more there is of this the less i'll be tempted to read Nathan's posts!!;D ;D I made a big mistake in momentarily forgetting recent history and actually trying to argue the point with him. Stupid, stupid, stupid me........My bad >:( >:(.
Haha you're safe here Firko, he'll never find you in a 70's motocross thread!QuoteThe more there is of this the less i'll be tempted to read Nathan's posts!!;D ;D I made a big mistake in momentarily forgetting recent history and actually trying to argue the point with him. However.. Peters little rays of photographic sunshine have given us a great distraction from the Prophet of Doom. Keep them coming Peter.
Hi Shelpi, nothing wrong with a tear or two and as we get older as we tend to draw the short straw and memories keep us going. It those that keep me going and keep the old grey matter ticking over. Life is too short. Peter;) :) :'( 8) only usually happens onthe way home from a meet when im on my own ;)
Quote....Apparently there was a CCM of Lester Rowleys at Jilliby, PeterK.Lester also rode the CCM at the 77 Tivoli round or Mr MX..
Would you have a look for me please. 8)
I have most of the programs for 1977 but Lester Rowley on his CCM only appears in the 1977 final round of the Mr Mx series. He may have come to Jilliby meet which was before Mr MX but his name is not in the program.
yep Mr Motocross saw him at Claredon got to ride with him if and when I qualified :oQuote....Apparently there was a CCM of Lester Rowleys at Jilliby, PeterK.Lester also rode the CCM at the 77 Tivoli round or Mr MX..

That's a great shot of Geoff Worrall in the air. The post racing career drug/alcohol addiction and associated mental problems that eventually contributed to his death is one of our sports truly sad stories. That's a great shot of John Behrens doing an old school cross up too. I know that interstaters didn't get to see Behrens as much as us here in NSW....more's the pity. He was a truly spectacular racer that would have been far more at home with today's airtime oriented motocross style. I saw him a few months ago and he's as fit, if not fitter than in his racing days from triathlon competition.
