Title: Expansion chamber does it fit?
Post by: AJ on May 30, 2008, 10:38:21 pm
Gents,

I have spotted a "works" expasion chamber for an '83 Cagiva WMX 125.

I would like to fit it to my '83 WMX 250 (190cc) project.

Fit up to the frame is no drama as they are identical bikes except for the top end.

With the 65cc difference in capacity, does this mean Carby jetting changes are required to get it run right?
Are there other performance issues?

The WMX 125 & WMX 250 (190cc) in '83 had different expansion chambers & different carbs.

It's a Marmitta brand hand made pipe, anyone know anything about them?

regards,

AJ

'Marmitta' mean 'muffler' in Italian. Don't know anything about them. Hows the Cagiva coming along have you been able to get parts?

Zorroz,

Spewing, I have been busy in the last week & didn't see your post on the pipe & silencer. It went for $1.00 :(

Dave has the bottom end pulled down & the bearings & seals turned up last week.

Bore is OK.

Main problem I will have is getting a piston.

regards,

AJ

I found a source in Germany that stocks 190 pistons, rods and crank. Click on Ersatzteile then Cagiva.

Got the pipe.

Smaller in diameter in both the expansion chamber tail pipe to the silencer than the standard WMX250 pipe.

Maybe just won't suit the bike, any ideas?
