You bet we're goin' to Blayney, Al, and I can't see why your classic 250 slider wouldn't be eligible to enter the 250 slider class or the Evo Classic , either, for that matter. See ya there, maybe ?

Ok , now we have some idea of the timetable for the NSW titles at Blayney, quote from Peter Bakers press release,

" The program will commence mid-morning on Saturday and continue through to the night with the finals staged under lights for the first time so even fans who cannot attend all day will get to witness plenty of racing.
Check the Motorcycling New South Wales website on Friday for the timing schedule.
Fans heading to the meeting are reminded that Ash’s Speedway Museum will open at the earlier time of 7am on Saturday to allow fans time for a look on the way to Blayney. The Museum is at 2/10 Bradwardine Road, Bathurst.

Ash's Speedway museum is well worth a look on ya way through Bathurst, turn left at the RTA on the Orange road.

Oh, yeah, there just might be a guest co-announcer !!

no prob Foss, sounds like your day will be full. sound like a cracker how long is the track ?

if you get to yak to a few old boys ask if anyone has a VHS or DVD copy of Maugers 1989 or 1991 Australian long track GP held at Bathurst showground.

i lost my 1991 copy ( i have the 1990 event on DVD which i transferred from vhs) but really want the 1989 event with Wigg in it, that event blew my mind. i am not sure if the event was taped, i know Tony day's Caric Video did 1990 onwards.

After what started out to be a great days racing the anticapation of what was shaping up to be some great finals was flattened by faulty lighting equipment supplied by the major sponser Coates Hire, resulting in the cancellation of the finals racing.

I would have thought that a couple of spares might have been a good idea?

The outcome left a bitter taste in the mouths of a lot of riders who travelled a long way to compete.

Hopefully it will not be the end of this as I am sure that the organisers put a hell of a lot of effort to put this event together and despite the coments from some were just as dissapointed with the end of proceedings as much as or maybe even more than those of us that did not get to finish the racing.

Next year they might have to call it the Kennards State Dirt Track Tittles.  ;D

There was talk of a press release from MNSW, has anyone seen this?

Yep, Brendan, there was heaps of disappointment and frustration amongst the race officials who worked franticly to try to put things to rights, and the commentary team, the day was building up to a cracker of a finals round, but chance stepped in the way and put two of the lights out, there was one spare available which was used on turn two then the turn three lights failed and you know the rest !!.

No sign of anything from MNSW yet but Peter Baker has put something out, I'll find it and post a link , if I can, here. this should be it, https://www.facebook.com/groups/112230366246/permalink/10151774128486247/

 a very disapointed Foss
