Title: Rm Chassis number - Can it tell what year the bike is ?
Post by: Bondi Rabbit on September 20, 2013, 09:08:55 am
Hi,
Im not familiar with Suzuki numbers and how to check what year, went with a mate to look at what seems to be an RM250 86 ? model but it had a steel tank not plastic, and had no disc brake rear, but drum. The chassis number was SJ11B-104325.Can any RM or Suzuki people advise ? Thanks

Hi Tony T

That's the bike , I had never heard of one as I only look at Yamaha stuff. This one is stripped so much it looked like an RM could not tell. Thanks very much for the info, also one more question what are they like ?

I'm afraid it's been 25 years since I've ridden one, so I can't really remember.  ;D
I remember it being a decent trail bike, but because the one I had belonged to a bike shop, I didn't really give it a hard time.  ;)
Maybe post that question in the Suzuki forum and it might get more attention?
I'm sure there's a couple of blokes on here with them.

84s are Quadracer based with lots of almost free horsepower
85-89 are full reed inlet and power valves exhaust it's horsepower increase is combustion chamber based

Cheers for the advice Its an 86 but has been stripped for track only, a bit rough but runs well. Just finishing my yz125x and this will be next, they don't seem to have been a popular bike like the IT yam, is it late enough model for parts to be still at wreckers ?
