How good is that? Hand built engines, dustcoats, Mk2 Zephyrs, Metisses everywhere, no corporate logos, trackside viewing. I can remember those days and they were good times, that's for sure.

My old mate, Sprite founder Frank Hipkin had a big opinion on young Dave Smith shown working on the works Maico Sprite at 3.20 plus. That's a great view of one of the rarest of Franks Sprites, they were only produced for a brief time in 1968 until the companies own motors were ready for service. I'd planned to build a Maico Sprite but lost enthusiasm when Frank died and I sold the frame. I reckon the 'wallpaper' would be 'Mayfair' magazine centrefolds ;D. Do you reckon Bruce Brown might have been influenced by the three Greeves riders in the beginning for his McQueen, Lawill and Smith sandhill scene in 'On Any Sunday'? It sure evoked the comparison in my mind :).

That film is a little gem ;D.

Cusso, Vauxhall Velox, Hillman Hunter, Mk3 Zephyr, Ford Anglia, Single Spinner Ford, Mk1 Cortina, Mk4 Zephyr, Vauxall Cresta, Hillman Minx and the usual smattering of Holdens to name just a few. Classic.

The Hillman Hunter stands out with styling way ahead of its time.

Also a Vanguard ute, Minor 1000, Singer Vogue etc. What do you reckon that bloke's doing by the black Vauxhall ?

Pete, you missed the best car there, the black 56 Chevy. I can also see a red Scoda, a Hillman Super Minx, a Vanguard ute, Fiat 850, Ford Zodiac (posh Zephyr), Austin A50 and I think a Mk2 Jag behind and to the right of the shiny new Hillman Hunter. It's notoable that there are four Vauxhall Veloxes. a Cresta, a number of Zephyrs and yet a comparatively small selection of Holdens and no Falcons or Valiants.

That explains all the Vauxhalls, Zephyrs and Hillmans....if it was Oz you'd have seen many more Holdens and some Valiants and Falcons.
