I have a few Z parts on ePay at present and have a bid (which will most likely remain as the winning bid) for a side cover....feel a bit uneasy about completing a sale to this destination? Last time some dodgy put a winning bid on a listing of mine from an "unusual" country (India) it cost me over $400 >:(

I would ask him to send an email with a picture of his drivers license and his head in it, if they match then you're pretty safe!! :D or you could just tell him the item will not be posted until PayPal funds are CLEAR into your bank account NOT PayPal account..

PayPal funds are CLEAR into your bank account NOT PayPal account..
I don't think that will make any difference as Paypal can take from your account if there is a dispute.
I think if you send it with tracking and a signature at the other end then they will have little chance of winning a dispute, although I suppose that can still dispute the condition.
When listing items for international you can block some countries if you wish

Far out as it seems Jerry, there is in fact a small but enthusiastic VMX scene in Greece. Ken's done one or two pieces on Greek enthusiasts in VMX mag and I had a nice bloke from Cyprus contact me with photos of his Cheney and CCM collection which included a Cheney DT1 similar to mine. You never know where these things will pop up...I sold an AT1 Yamaha tank to a guy in Luxembourg and have bought parts from as far away as Nova Scotia and Iceland.

Almost had a good story for Ken, a mates father was poised to be one of the first Greek riders to race in GP's, he was given a YZ to ride by the Yamaha importers in Greece, he did 1 or 2 GP before it all went south. He was conscripted into the army to fight the civil war in Greece, afterwards moved to Australia. He had the YZ up until a few years ago and sold it, someone around Adelaide bought a early YZ with a lot of history.

A Mate has sold a couple of bikes to a bloke in Greece with no issues at all . As Firko says the Greeks do have a VMX scene and some very cool bikes , hows the bidders feedback ? .

Hmmm, buggered if I know ???
I got caught for $400 odd sometime back when a guy from India bought an item and simply said he'd never received it and that was sent registered with delivery confirmation, Pay Pal clearance and a squeaky clean history? He'd opened a case and won it all within 2 1/2 weeks of sending. >:( Even got del. confirmation back....like 6 months later, but all too late for ePay.
Pretty sure Oz Post doesn't do tracking to Greece either (will check today, but website says no)
How do you cancel a bid? I see a lot of Sellers stating they;ll cancel bids from Buyers with low history etc. etc.

You might save yourself some credibility and the bidders some disappointment if in future when you list on the bay that you wont sell to countries that you consider dodgy with a list of those countries .
Often on here we get stories of disappointed people who are unable to bid on something as the seller wont sell to Aus / NZ, but to have a bid removed must leave a really sour taste with the bidder .
I understand you want to protect yourself and not get ripped off but put the boot on the other foot ;)
