Title: cz 125 pistons
Post by: rough rider on September 12, 2013, 08:25:46 pm
hi , anyone know where I can get hold of a cz 125 piston 4th oversize which should measure 55.95 or there abouts . or I have seen adds where pistons from other bikes such as Honda 125 pistons have been used but don't know what model they are from , barrel is then bored to 57mm to suit piston
any help would be much appreciated

www.czmotocross.eu would be a good place to try although 125 pistons are often listed on us ebay

thanks for the link tony , have seen the ones listed on ebay they don't seem to be listed correctly for example, some of them say 3rd oversize on the heading then you can clearly see stamped in the piston 55.25mm which makes them 1st oversize . there are a few like this ATM
just trying for a piston atm as this bike has a bit of history to it as dave bashem won the 71 SA state titles on it and the owner wants to keep all numbers etc matching as they have paperwork to prove what it is and where its from

Just had a look at their catalogue & they only list standard 1,2 & 3 over for model 984 bikes on page 72 for $75us, not sure what the difference is with the model 511/516 pistons other than single rings
They stock new sleeves for the 984 if that helps, page 64 for $120us which would allow you to go back to standard for $195us plus postage
Changing sleeves in CZ motors is the easiest job ever, takes about an hour in the oven from cold at 200deg to get the sleeve to drop out then put the casting back in for the same amount of time & the new sleeve drops in. You have a couple of minutes to align the ports then place weight on top of the sleeve to keep it seated while things cool down
I'll be getting a new sleeve etc for my 400 soon from them

thanks for that web site tony27 that's a great site  ,

jimg1au , that's what I need for my cz to make it what the id plate says it should be . mine has a 250 4 sp engine in 71 380 frame have thought about looking for a 380 4 speed engine one day , pitty your barrel wont fit the cases

Your barrel is 5 stud from memory Jim, my bike is a matching numbers 73 & I don't really want to put the sidepiper head on it. I do own a post sidepipe 5 stud barrel but it's in need of a rebore before use
Saw your ebay listing for the pistons, second 1 was actually 4th over rather than 3rd going on the 82.91? stamping on the crown, could be interested in buying them off you in about a month or so

Did you ever find the piston you needed?
There is a 4th oversize kit on ebay at the moment, I've gotten stuff from the seller before without problems
