Lol, thanks Ted.  But alas Nada he is right . .it does need a reco engine ... and a few more other parts as well :)

If Ted's 100 doesn't fit the bill let me know and we can talk about the 200.  Interestingly enough I purchased it for my wife but to be honest, I think I'll buy her a new bike  ;)

I don't want to sell it Pete, but young Hayden has been effectively rubbed out of Heaven unless I get him a ( what is termed ) a REAL motocross bike. Apparently XR's are too dangerous for juniors to ride on a motocross track. XR's are only fine for seniors apparently. Another fuking brilliant decision delivered by the controlling body.

I recall being told a Pre 85  two stroke 80, 85 or 125 or a modern 150 CRF four stroke, 85 two stroke

What's your CR 80 like?

Lol .. no but with a bit more effort she might :)  I know the bike is no garage queen but with a bit of work Ted that would be a pretty good little thing.

Actually it would be a big step up from her old 1975 TS250 but the last time we rode together I decided that she really deserves a new or much newer bike.  Something like a TTR230 etc.

XR 200's are a great little thing. However I can't share your optimism with the BIT of work. You really gotta ask yourself " what does it weigh "

Hang on Ted as we discussed on the weekend this is nothing to do with the Heaven Club it is the MA junior rules and clarified by a junior club official that is both a Steward & Clerk. The XR100 is fine on grass track and natural terrain tracks it is only the 'MAN' made tracks like Canberra, Lakes and Glenbawn that cause an issue as juniors require an bike sold as an MX bike on those circuits. Young Hayden's riding has improved in leaps and bounds and is now at a point that he would enjoy a different bike I am sure, not that there is anything wrong with the XR in our opinion. MOMS 12.16.0.4

The other thing is I don't think a senior can ride a small wheel bike in competition against full size bikes. I believe that 19" front 16" rear (I think) is the smallest you can go when riding against 21/18 or 21/19 rim sized bikes. Again not a Heaven rule and don't ask me to justify it as I have no idea and happy to be corrceted!

And here I was thinking that you were a man of great vision Teddles ... oh well I'll have to do a quick rebuild and show you the results  ;D

I didn't blame Heaven at all I.think it is a ridiculous  rule delivered by our controlling body ( MA) as I previously stated.

Yes Hayden has improved, so much so that instead of the entire field lapping him in 3 laps to no one lapping him in 4 laps

As Hayden competes at wakeboard contests as well as vmx we were waiting till the end of this year to get him a more competitive bike We wanted to see if he stays keen on mx

Well that decision has been brought forward by somebody other than the child's legal guardian

You also mentioned that Honda said their XR range are just fun bikes  They sure got a lot of mileage from them advertising them as something else after Ballard and the GHR Honda Australian Safari Racing Team absolute gave it to all comers

It's all good though. I am quite sure they will advise me of what college he is to attend when the time arrives
