FYI , just called the number at VMX unlimited , as I wanted to ask about some steering head bearings and a lady answered the phone, as I asked, she informed me that Les ( I do not know the man ) had a heart attack last night and is having an operation today. Just thought most on here would know him and would like to know
-
Thanks for the information. The whole VMX community will have fingers crossed it goes well.
-
Fluck, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse. Les is one of the sports genuine good blokes who's done more for our sport than most. I really wish him all the best.
-
My understanding is that Les is OK... in the sense that it was a mild attack. I spoke to his wife and I think the "operation" is an angiogram. Glenn Pickering will be manning the phones at VMX Unlimited tomorrow so if you need stuff give him a call. He will not have the same degree of product knowledge that Les has, but is a very helpful bloke who is stepping in to help. It is important that we continue to support VMX Unlimited.

Yes, this fellow is truly one of the good guys. It seems that most times I speak to him he is battling some kind of injury or ailment, why do the salt of the earth blokes seem to cop so much grief? Get well mate.
-
As has been said Les is one of the good guys.
Get well soon mate.
Cheers
Shaun

Anyone heard the latest on how Les has been going ???
-
Was just thinking that myself, I need to order some bits so I will ring later.
-
The business is still operating because my parts turned up yesterday
but id be up ta shit if the business ever went under.
Just checked out the Maico only UK business prices and Les is heaps cheaper
but noticed he pretty much has no stock left for most brands..
-
My understanding is that Glenn Pickering is presently managing the business for Les. Anyone that knows Glenn will know that he will try 110% to get your parts to you and to ensure that Les's business continues.
-
I thought it was hop a long cassidy.
-
Well umm YES it was hop and dragg along Cassidy but you are correct he has progressed on to just normal old hop along now ;D ;D
Hopefully Glenn will be back on the bike very soon :)

I just got off the phone after talking with Les and he was in good spirits and is thankfully well on the road to recovery. He had a number of stents fitted to some blocked arteries and he reports that he's feeling a hell of a lot better. Les is one of the real good blokes in our sport and it's great to know that he's well on the way to making a full recovery.
