Post by: jimson on August 30, 2013, 02:11:28 pm
G,day viewers just wondering if any of you blokes or  sheilas ever chat to other people and think your life is slipping by. I was talking to a bloke the other day and he was full of life had loads of experience in lots of different fields. Made me think I was wasting mine  :-\ Jimson

My dad once said to me " you will one day ask yourself what is life all about?
Staying Alive, Family, Friendship, Dirt bikes and OK Property to ride dirt bikes on- The rest is all just the bluer of life that we do to make the five things happen!

at the young age of 44... Brett

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence mate,I bet this bloke who has been there & done that has not done some of the things you have,I assume you ride or race a dirtbike ,some people spend all there life sitting on there ass watching dvd's & eating pizza while you are out doing it in the dirt, sounds like a pretty good well lived life to me :)

Oldyzman that is so True. But when ones family has cracks in it. And you lose your mojo  I know pick your self up and dust your self off and have another shot at it. How many bloody shots do you go through until you get it right. Jimson

I once asked a very successful man " I am at the top of my game , but I want more"

He simply said " diversify and put the effort in "

The 1 connection we all share is "life"
Everything else is subjective even freedom & truth !!!

I have spent time with Japanese elders who at 65-80 yrs of age can still live well...
They have often stated,, Have a habit of having no habits ! I agree with the idea of western thinking is backward (heath wise)

Eat well , drink well (lots) & know your limits !      ;)

Hey Garry,
Cheer up mate. Go up to Bombaderry TAFE and learn a new skill - plenty to choose from. Small engine repair, panel beating, spraypainting, welding etc, etc. Doesn't cost much and generally you can take projects in with you,
Pete.

After a couple of years of thinking that everything was overpowering me I've now come out the other side to find that things weren't so bad after all. Keeping the mind active is the best cure to the blues my friend. Get that Honda bobber sorted for CD10. 8)

I have found that just getting on with whatever it is that you are doing at the time and looking forward to what s happening next keeps me going.
Never expect to much and you wont be dissapointed.  ;) ;D ;D
Life is a game, play hard  :)

You have to have a passion Garry. There must be something in your life that fires up the boiler and gives you a reason to get out of bed in the morning. The grief we all suffer due to relationship problems, financial drains, work pressures, health problems and other speed humps can be minimalised if you have a passion to focus on. Sit down and think hard about what truly gives you a buzz that's as far away from the previously mentioned speed humps as possible and concentrate as much as you can on that. It might be tough getting the bad ju ju in your head to move over to make room for the good stuff but bit by bit it'll happen ;) Trust me on that.

Thanks for everyones input  :). I think I just have to re calibrate my thought pattern. It seems I,m stuck in my own paradigm. I just have to find the key for the door and I,ll be free if not I,ll kick the bastard open LOL Jimson

While you're here, how's the Honda project progressing? I like what you're doing with that bike mate and was hoping you'd have it at CD10.

Just last weekend when I dragged out my little forgotten Indian 125 project from an old gypsy caravan. I thought of you mate  :D

I often think of how I may have missed the bus, one lifetime isn't long enough!

Think of it like trees, some grow fast and you say wow look at that! then abruptly drops dead. Some grow very slow and mighty things they become.

Funny you should post this. A bloke I know passed away the other week at 42. He was a keen VMXér and probably known to the QLD blokes.  He was always full of life and squeezed a lot out of it. I wasn't close to him but his passing has affected me and made me try to put at least some of the passion he had for his into my own life.

Fortunately for me, I started a family late in life.  So when I should be winding down, I have no choice but to wind it up as the kids keep me on the run.

I am with you. Having kids later has kept me in the game.  Had a lot of shit happen last decade or so. My son and his autism pretty much preoccupy me. Sat night a good friend injured himself badly in a bmx race. You never know when you might go. Gonna race all fall now,

Time waits for no man..... So do what ever it is that makes you happy and content at least once a day. Everybody needs some "me" time I reckon.

After a life time of what I thought was crap and bad decisions, I came to realise that we all walk a different path. Not all of us are born under a rainbow and some of us have to do things a bit harder than others. But, as my dear old grandfather used to say, "a lesson learnt is time well spent".

So rather that questioning why and what am I here for, I just get on with it and know that good times will come. Some of the speed humps look impossible to climb and at other times, the speed humps are a good excuse to launch a big jump off of on my B50......

Tough times never last, tough people do!

G'day Jimson, not sure you will read this but i HOPE your day is a good one. Mate i think i understand where you are coming from.....recently, about 2mths ago, i was over EVERYTHING, work, home, missus etc, i was actually whingeing to a mate because my lovely bought me a F....king cardigan to wear and i didnt like it, yep i know, SHALLOW, the next day she, Leone, is diagnosed with CANCER, well, what an A hole i felt.... so, actually 9 week in, she is through her op, had about a 100 scans/blood tests/biopsy etc etc...all with me in tow, bloody humbling i can tell you. NOT ONCE has she stopped smiling, NOT ONCE.  Me, well i am a bit of a shot duck, have not slept more than a couple hours a night in two months, i have actually sat and watched her sleep for hours at a time, she WILL make it through, just 18 months of treatment to go... amazing lady who lives with a dope (me!)  We have spent hours at the cancer centre, still she smiles, even with a drip in and a nurse injecting the "good stuff", mate truly humbling.  WHAT HAVE I LEARNED....easy, she is a LOT better than me, always, always "glass half full", NOTHING in my world is boring anymore and EVERY DAY is now a WINNER, dont care if its cold or hot, wet or dry, sunny or dark, every one a winner.  Jimson, i hope your world has improved for you, if not IMPROVE IT where you can mate, appreciate all the truly GREAT people in it that know you and like you and you them, mate make your day a winner,  I KNOW I AM! Talk more with your mates and family. YOu cant really change what life throws at you but you CAN  surely control how YOU react to it.   Oh, and a ride on an RM500 now and then helps!!!
happy trails brother,
Wayne.
