Title: 1972 Yamaha DT2MX-250 Cylinder & head on Swapmeet
Post by: firko on August 29, 2013, 11:25:51 am
Jay, Iain???? Go on you both want it ;D I'm thinking about it but I just bought a YZ-A cylinder so I'm not sure I need it. Good price and free internal shipping is a good deal.

Jesus Christ Firko....the amount of DT2MX stuff that's out there is amazing.....I'm bloody tempted to get one for myself as I think they are a pretty bike and Yam's first MXer....next thing you'll know I'll have a DT1 or RT1 then they will be calling me "little Firko"....your brain washing is starting to take hold.

But isn't that what your father said when he found out you bought a motorbike??

I have no DT-1/DT-2 stuff anymore.  Black DT-2MX tank is headed South of the Equator as we type.  I switched to RT-1MX/RT2MX last year.

I did just pick up an NOS RT-2MX Cylinder today though.  ;D

I emailed the guy about postage to Victoria he has replied its going to cost $155us to send it but he'll do barrel & head for for $250us with postage but he said in his email
"Now here's the problem... I don't do pay pal... You can mail me U.S. cash. Or mail me a Western Union money order in U.S. funds. You could wire it.. But they want a kings ransom"
so my problem is how do I pay for it not many other options here or is he just scamming me..

Mav  be careful anyone after cash or Weston union is a no go with me .I only paid $50 odd for postage for the same combination cyl and head .  You can count me out on DT2MX and RT2MX stuff now Ive got my matching pair , but if  another one comes along who's to say I might got tempted . Iain

$155 is over twice the shipping I've paid in the past. The big problem is however is his not doing PayPal. Unless you know someone that you've got a trusting relationship with that can buy it for you, you're up shit creek. Western Union is a no no too.

Wise words from two Yamaha gurus who have previous experience in these deals I might pass on this one as I smell a rat as well cheers Andrew
