Title: 89 YZ Swingarm???????????????????

Hi All,

I recently purchased a new swingarm for my YZ 125 (89) and grabbed the one on the right, as it was advertised as an 89 YZ 250 swingarm. Thinking it should fit, and by eye measurements it will fit. But, it looks different and the alloy cover over the linkage connections has thrown me.

I have researched on google images, to see if anything was similar, and i can't find anything. I rang the supplier and he told me it was genuine Yamaha, and was definitely off an 89 YZ 250, which they imported from the US. But i can't imagine they would have different arms for different continents. Any ideas guys??

Maybe it's aftermarket??

Looks like a 1990 model swingarm with the holes in the side
but i could be wrong.

There's a photo of an 89 yz250 in the for sale section it seems to match the 'clean' swing arm you have. Is the other item a 125 swing arm?

It looks like the correct swingarm for the 89 250, below is an Ebay link which shows an 89 model arm.   Peter.

Yep, saw it advertised as an 89 250 swing arm, and in the ad it said it should fir the 125. But, its clearly different

Well, were about to find out if it fits a 125
