Just would like to ask for help with cdi unit. I have a 1980 RM80 cdi unit. Can i use it on my 1979 RM125? Both units look identical apart from part numbers.
Thank you.

RM 80 79 -80 -81 use the same CDI .... according to Suzuki .
Rm 125 and 100 share the same CDI also

Thank you. So should i use Rm80 cdi on my RM125.Someone on this forum mentioned that RM 125 cdi works well on PE175 and also Ts185 works well on TM/RM 400. Also 1980 RM100 and RM400 shared the same cdi unit as far as i know. So is there any chance of blowing motor up or motor running too hot doing this swap?

Being a 125 you are probably gunna give it a flogging, unless someone else has tried then i would not. If it was a Coil then why not. But the cdi advances the curve etc...
