The Toowoomba Motor Cycle Club is holding a Vinduro at Murphy's Creek October 5 and 6.
The event is for Pre 90's bikes, Enduro bikes, Trail bikes or MX bikes (with a headlight).
There is also an area set aside for Vintage for Twin Shock / pre 90 Trials
It is a non competitive event.
This is an excellent area for dirt bikes, this area is rutted, rocky and hilly. Single track as well as old fire trails. Not a paddock ride.
MQ Sanctioned and all riders will need to have a rec licence or a one day licence. These will be available on the weekend.
Camping encouraged for pit racing and tall stories, no facilities, portable toilets, all BYO incl water.
I will place a flyer up in the next couple of days detailing pricing etc.
Any inquiries call Mick 0421276875

I'm On-board,
Absolutely loved the last one, had a ball.
Great tracks, great bunch of blokes, organisers & participants.
More bizarre vinduro machinery needs to be wheeled out of my workshop & ridden.
cheers, Daryl.
-
is there riding on both days? or just Sunday
-
Come on guys, If we want Vinduros in QLD we need to support this event.

at this stage I should be there
-
I will be there with bells on!

Hi,
Riding Saturday afternoon and Sunday. This is great riding country, you will enjoy our Vinduro Loop. If you want a preview, come to the Murphy's Creek Trail Ride 14 - 15 September.
Mick
-
were do i find out about Murphy's Creek Trail please
-
I reckon if you scrap the headlight idea, you might get more entries including MX bikes - It will make the event more viable
-
Count me in... ;D
What time on what days do the loops open? How long etc
-
How hard is it to fit a headlight? It doesn't have to work even. Strap a dolphin torch to the front guard :D Good grief it doesn't take much imagination does it really.... ::)
-
I'm in. Possibly my brother too
-
I'll be there. :) Darcy

Gates open from 8.00am Saturday, Entries from 11.00am, riding starting at 1.30pm track closes at 4.00pm. Sunday entries from 7.30am, track open at 9.30am closing at 2.30pm. Camping next to our nice creek is free and is encouraged. Please bring your own water and food. Toilets will be on site. The loop will be longer than last year, we have incorporated some typical old school enduro single track sections through the trees and gullies, and like last year the MX track will form part of the loop. Overall the track will be a nice flowing layout and a heap of fun to ride no matter what your level of experience is. There will be some challenging sections if you want to ride them, it's up to you. Period MX bikes are very welcome, with or without a headlight. The riders attitude to and the enjoyment of these events is more important than the pedantic attitudes towards perceived eligibility. Entry fee is $40.00 and MA Single Event Recreational Licenses will be available.
Clubby and Reeksy from Trailzone will also be in attendance to ride and cover the event, plus an Australian MX and off road legend could be coming up to be our special guest rider.
See you all there,
Lawrie

Enduro riders have to remove side stands and bark busters to ride in vmx events, so surely mx riders can zip tie an old head light on their bike to ride a Vinduro ? Come on guys, get into the whole vibe of the thing. ;D
-
We have any more takers for this event?
-
After talking with a few guys at the club meeting last night I will most likely come along for a ride .. be my first real enduro (if it is a real enduro of course) ..... not sure any of my bikes can go that long .. I know I can't but will take some concrete and give it a shot ;D
Someone has got to come in last .. might as well be me ;D
-
I'll be ridin an Alpina or Alpina powered Frontera - so will probably eat dirt with you Simo.
-
I'll be peddling a Xl185s so looks like there is going to be a group down the back. :)
-
Sounds like we've got a race to the bottom (or back) ;D
-
Will I bring my tm 125 or my rm 125b? rode the rm the year before last and had a ball.
-
I'm keen and still deciding what to ride. Most likely is a M138 Alpina
-
good to see Kenny Koala as your new pic Simo. The echo valley Kolala will never be the same ;D
-
after riding my 83 husky xc250 last year the alpina seems like the best choice i'll bring my 350 black motor thumbs up 8)
-
:) Will be great to see some bullies for a change. Depending on the course, Murphy's can be great Alpina country.
-
not long to go now, IT is ready

Bring them both Branchy as you might find the new track a bit more open.

The Vinduro loop looks set to be a ripper, we rode around the new sections on Saturday, old school single track in and out of the trees and they are great. Some of the areas used on the trail ride held up well and are a hoot to ride with a nice sandy creek section. We will be having some easy and hard sections to challenge your skills. The MX track and the cross country test track are in good shape also. So if you want some real old school enduro riding, a track to suit all levels of rider and bike combinations come along for an enjoyable weekend of riding, camp out on Saturday night and have a ball. CD may have died this year, but we haven't.
Lawrie :D :D :D
-
Sounds great Lawrie. I'll be there and I'll be harassing everyone to do the same.
Cheers
Noel

im comen saterday

Lawrie and I spent a bit of time Saturday afternoon exploring a few new tracks for the Vinduro. No problems on the Bergs but we may need to make a few of these hards for the Vinduro and have an easy option around them.
Great to see a few coming along for the event, look forward to meeting you all again.

Google maps " Kherim Rd Murphy's Creek Qld " to get an idea of where it is.
North end of road under railway bridge..
-
Count me in with bells on ;D
Are there any directions to get there or do we head to Kherim Rd and follow signs etc?
-
I've just got back from marking the first section for our Vinduro being held this weekend. The new single track bush sections will be great to ride, they haven't been used in years ;D We will have easy and hard sections for you to choose from, the hard sections will only be a rating of around 4 to 5 but being single track which drops in and out of some gullies will make them a little bit more technical ;) The easy stuff will be challenging to ride, but not overly difficult to ride. All up it's going to be a very enjoyable flowing ride, typical old school enduro, easy or hard :) :) :)
Stephen Gall has told me he is coming up on the Saturday for a rip around through the trees. He enjoyed our trail ride, and I'm sure he will love our Vinduro Loop, which includes a Moto Cross track for your pleasure :) :) :) The Trailzone Team are coming up on Saturday, you might even get a photo of your mug 8) 8) 8), or your bike in Clubbys fine magazine. All pre 90's bikes are welcome enduro or MX bike, no headlight necessary. We are here for a good time not a hard time :) :D ;D.
Yours in the Spirit of Vinduro.
Lawrie

Yes mate, I will have signs out tomorrow from the Corner of Cemetery road and Murphy's Ck Road.
Lawrie and I will be finalising the marking out tomorrow ready for Saturday.

JUST SPEWING!!!! :'(
Loaded up and traveled only 300 metres when the Ute decided to go into "Safety Mode".
Limped back home. OBD reader shows no faults??? Bugger!!
(I had finally replaced the plugs & fuel filter after 366,000klm. you'd think it would be happy with that). :o

I hope everyone has a really great weekend. How about we don't wait another year for the next one.
Cheers, Daryl.

Wondered what happened to ya Daryl.
Another Great ride tho it started to warm up today.
Good thing Laurie decided to start off early.
This one looked like a Husqvarna benefit with more than a dozen fronting up.
-

Just home from the Aratula CHARITY trail ride.
Good fun , numbers down due to Karara trail ride being on and the heat but that made it all the better.
Sat/Sun Murphys Creek then Aratula on Monday. ;)
Three days of riding my Husky , what could be more fun. ;D
