Title: KLX 250 head Gaskets
Post by: head on August 19, 2013, 06:08:07 pm
This part is no longer available from Kawasaki, Has anyone reused the original. It is a ring like a exhuast flange gasket. Is there any suitable goo you can use to reseal original. Any ideas or thoughts would be helpfull.
Thanks Neil.

The after market ones work just fine. The head rings are a "one-time" use only. Mine usually come with the gasket sets. Available from ebay or a good cycle shop. The gasket rings work quite happily at 72mm bore and a much higher compression.
Always renew the o-rings too. If you don't you'll be taking it all apart again to cure a leak.

I've found that as long as the rubber head gaskets aren't flattened they are just fine to re use, you just have to inspect them closely. Just as well as the timing chain surround is expensive
