Darryll King wins 2013 FIM world vets championship.
He is the man.
We cant wait for him to come back and ride our bike at Conondale next year.
Pete.

Must have been those tips you gave him, Robo 8)
-
Well there you go .. we witnessed one of the fastest at Conondale a few weeks ago.
He was fast, smooth and obviously fit.
And you still sound like a proud father Pete ;D
-
one tough bastard that bloke...and his brother ;D :D I saw him shrug off a nearly endoed yz 450 that fell on his shoulder and he just flicked his body and pushed it away while on full throttle. He didn't push hard enough though as the guy recovered and then passed him on the last corner to take the race :o. it was the final big bore 4stroke moto at the ISDE in Gippsland.. Amazing

Excellent...Best wishs to Darryl and Josh Coppins at Farliegh Castle for dnats in 28 days 8)

If for some reason we never see him at the Conondale Classic again we will look back on that weekend and say wow, we witnessed something very special that weekend.
One proud dad.
Pete lol.
-
He'll be back Pete, the Kiwi team at next years Conondale Classic will be very strong, might get young Josh to ride as well. Darryll was also doing some spotting while he's over there for talent for us next year. 8)

He's going to ride my Cheney in pre 70 at the Canberra Nats. You heard it here first.

Is Canberra back on Firko? Or will he be riding around the track on his own ;D

Tony Cooksly - multi world vet champ would be good
-
Cooksley will be at Conondale next year Bazza, you'll have to make the trip over and watch the VMX Bledisloe.....it will be the normal result....NZ win... :)

I tried to ring the 'usual suspects' this morning but nobody's answering their phones. News can't be too far off.

Who in Aussie in the vets could beat Darryll King Firko?....or Cooksley....or Coppins....or.....Darryll gave everybody a lesson at Conondale with one hand tied behind his back!!....next year...I just have to find enough fast Aussies to make a contest of it. ;D...Might try and get ol Morely and a few oldies over as well.
-
Hmmm - has anyone invited the guy with the 2nd place trophy in his hands? Just curious...
-
Wonka may be up for some revenge...
-
Glen Bell said he had a ball and will be back. He rode the wheels off that CR500. With a bit more preparation the OZ team will be on the pace.
-
Don't forget to invite Ploeny

And if you can find an appropriate KTM, I'm sure Leisky wou'd be happy to release Wonka from his Enduro team management duties for the weekend... ;D
-
Wonka's just a bloody tree hugger like you Tony....I guess he can ride the Vinduro loop there.

Micky Cook is more than capable of giving Darryl a run, and he lives on the Sunny Coast!
-
For a one off ride how about BEN TOWNLEY !!!
-
Am I missing something here, thought world vets was 25th August not 18th & I'm not talking the US world vets either
-
oops bit of confusion here at our house LOL :-[ :-[ :P it is on the 25th, I was just pre-empting what will happen anyway LOLLLL :o :o :o :o
at least it has got us talking about something other than eligibility of EVO bikes.

John The first thing you will need to do is find a competitive Yamaha for Darryl. The bigger it gets the more his sponsors will get involved.
Most of the fast Aussie are probably ten years older than Darryl too. James and David also had bike problems. Anyway lets see what happens. Chad and Byrner are also in their thirties now.

I'll have a chat to "Sick Mick" and see what he thinks, might be a possibility for next year!!

Mick's done a couple of vintage races before..would be a definite chance I'd reckon.

Darryl was a no show. the event was won by matts nilsson. To be honest its a non event!!! The race you want to win is the VMXdN. see you soon.
