OK all you Husky techno's, is there much difference between a 77 Husky barrel and a 74 Mag Husky barrel and would the 77 be legal on a 74 for pre75 ?. While I'm at it, did Thor make an alloy arm same as there common looking arm to suit the same bike? I just want to clear up a few points before it drags on....you know....he said, she said, they said......
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that as long as it looks identical on the outside as the 74 barrel the 77 is ok.
-
Where's the guru's....Husky Pete?.....Shoey?.....would be nice to know.
-
Hmmm...
this sounds familiar...
-
Externally there is nothing to note between the 74 Mag and 75/6/7 cylinder..

What about internally??
But I guess the real issue would be the date of manufacture, not the appearance? Unless of course the parts come from a recognised follow on model.

Hi,
74 Mag head is straight cut , but will fit others, 75 76 77 is radial (sunburst) finned, check the engine #s
74 heads are very very hard to source , if anyone has a spare I know someone who wants to fit one asap,
cheers

Internally doesn't matter Simo as you can port to your hearts content. Thanks Watto. Swingarm is out, owner did some research, they where not available in that configuration in 74. Cheers.

You can use a Boyd and Stellings alloy swingarm Joanie.....Husky Pete's got one on his new pre 75 Mag. They're one of the few legal alloy swingarms for pre 75. They're actually legal for pre 70 in some cases ;).

As Firko has said, the only swingarms are alloy Boyd and Stelling and the Steel ProFab swing arms, i have the ProFab (thanks to Dave Tanner) on my 74 Mag 250 and the Boyd and Stelling on my 74 400, they are pretty rare .

I doubt the radial heads are legal as they came out on the 75 bikes.
Micheal i have a straight fin Mag 250 head if you need it $200 plus postage.
74, 75, 76, 77 barrels are externally the same, the porting is pretty much the same on all of them as Moto and Watto has posted already.

Thanks Pete. They are cool bikes.

Not to under cut Pete,, but a 250 head from 1972, 1973 and 1974 are the same..tho in 1974 the fins were cut off the left side for the pipe... any amount of that era heads on eBay that only need some trimming...

So dose this bike have a 6 speed box and is this legal here(australia)
