Title: Disappointing spectator attendance for Connondale Classic.
Post by: mudguard on August 03, 2013, 07:57:31 pm
Went to watch the racing at the Conondale Classic today. Would have to be up there for one of our best VMX events this country can hold. The weather was more like a Spring day, track was prepared to perfection, record number of riders and many well known Ex Aussie and NZ Champs riding in the Pro Class event. Very well organised event, camping on property, good catering, good amenities and showers, night time entertainment.
The racing was great to watch, so why is it that there was more MX bikes there than spectators?

An event like that needs to advertised, on radio, etc. Promotion, clubs need to tell people that motocross event is happening.

Surely we are a long way from needing to worry about spectator numbers?
A good turn-out of competitors is surely what matters?
