Yep avoid the controversy and land right in the middle of it front and centre. This swingarm is made for a 1978 RM 250. Hardly eligible for Pre 78

I can see mark Dot Com twitching in his south Auckland mansion.
-
Teds .... onto it.
-
price has gone up sent seller a mesage about postage and he told me the price is now 1,000 usd for the arm
-
Well now isn't this interesting. He sold it to me yesterday for 750..we agreed on the deal and today he said someone offered him 800 and I was out of luck because he sold it them instead after we agreed..another freakin idiot to stay away from...what a complete asshole...seems like the world full of them as of late..tell him to keep the thing...I did
-
By the way I have a real LOP arm and it is in my opinion this one is not the real deal but a fake copied from mine that was for sale here a awhile back....this same fellow quizzed me for detailed pictures and measurements wanting to buy and then disappeared and low and behold he now has a brand new looking one..
Total crap !
-
How about the guy who offered him more after he had agreed to sell to you?
I love when you are working on a deal with someone and then the second guy, who thinks he is out of the running, tells the guy the part is worth a lot more.
>:(

The guy that actually bought the arm just called me asking me not to give him , the seller(Leeroy Mccollum , holeshot199 at hotmail .com) bad press..Problem isI didn't give him bad press, he did that to himself...the guy said he paid 1000 US for a fake LOP arm...jokes on him I guess. I feel bad for him..turns out the seller is a mechanic for a very famous US MX star (JS7) ..He is .fabbing up fake arms and screwing over people while working in the industry at a high level...
I'm over it but still beware I'm sure he's built more than one...looks like a KLP arm with a LOP plate welded on to it...easy to do..

While the seller is lacking in morals without doubt ::)
Weather the arm is genuine or not is IMHO irrelevant , Original or copy really who gives continental ::)
Back in the day they were a cool addition and to this day to us who remember them they are still a cool part . $1000.00, US if hes happy paying that good on him .The reality is in 10 yrs time all this stuff original or copies will be worth five eighths of fork all, when silly old forks like us have relived the past and are more concerned where were going to live out are days than about old bikes the lot will be worth fork all ;D do you really think the kids will want it ::)
If its a copy its less likely to be bent , cracked, or plain worn out so its probably a better option ;) Im off to look at retirement brochures :)

Shit KLP are actually reproducing something that resembles something from back in day :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o rather than something in the builders imagination ;) Still be worth fork all in 10 yrs though ;)

All good points...he still a Dick , that didnt change...was the point...KLPAre super nice arms...
-
You could tell it was a fake as the welds where too good looking and it had too good a shine/finish to it....Those KLP arms are beautiful pieces of work but most are his design and not "in the spirit of the sport" in my opinion. A mate here has bought a few but there not legal in our rules so cant use them. I feel for old mate who bought it (the LOP), but unless you name names, this sort of thing will keep happening.

:D :D :D Spot on What we consider a work of ART the Kids call Junk..
The Kids have not got a clue as to its Value not that a lot of
Parts that we are paying big $$$ for are realy worth what we
are paying for it any how..
Unless its Genuine Nos Stuff and some of that is over inflated

;D ;D ;D I was thinking the very same thing Bill and Joan. Karl's fabrication skills are some of the best I've ever seen but sometimes his grasp on period authenticity leaves a bit to be desired.
