Hi Gents,
I have an RM465Z motor on the go, been considering buying engine bearings and gasket set from Vintage Suzuki in the U.S., are they the best source, what do you recommend?
Does anyone have a recommended machine shop for boring in western Sydney?
On another question, the reed cage has old boysens fitted currently WITH NO STOPS do i need to use the stops with Boysens or not?
once again, thanks for your help,
Kt.

Hi KT
I got most of my parts through alpha sports (in the USA) or Suziparts here in Australia
Both provided a pretty good service
http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm?fpg=/smoto/1994%20RMX250/28.htm
I found Alpha particularly good as they have the exploded parts diagrams, just need to maximise postage by making a big list and ordering once!!
I used MMT Motorcycle services for a rebore and port job, they were recommended to me by someone on this site and did a pretty good job from what I can tell cost $77 for the rebore and $80 for the port job, they are based at Granville (9637 0277)
Good luck with the resto

Boyesens don't use reed stoppers, any set I've had said in the instructions to remove them

Greg Ball is very good and reasonably priced. Cylinder rebore was $ 65 i think. Ethell Road, Kirawee, 9521 8470.
MMT moved from Granville to Londonderry over a year ago. Craig 0424 242 089

Go for genuine Suzuki gaskets as they are better quality. They are all still in stock.
Change your reeds anyhow. They come with a flat plate to go between the reeds and screws to hold them down.
Got plenty of head gaskets if you need some ;)

G'day men,
thanks for your help. Have bought some bits off Alfa, good service but pricey, was actually cheaper off Western MC in Penrith recently for head and barrel gaskets for my 500 but Westerns are very pricey for engine and gearbox bearings, but i will use them for gasktes and a heap of other stuff.
Dproject, where do you source your engine and gearbox bearings? are they available from a general bearing service? Where do you buy engine seals?
Seat cover and foam, who has the best reproductions of those????? I have a set of genuine Suzuki plastics to use but i will use a cover on the tank i think.
cheers,
Kt.

Craig or Greg would be the choice, Greg resleeved my barrel and had to make the sleeve. If just getting honed or bored Craig is closer
