Curious, as the bike is not fitted with an Australian compliance plate, how do you register it? In Victoria you could get rec-reg but not full reg.

Am I missing something?

In Vic if you wanted to have the bike on full reg you'd need to get the bike compliance checked and an "approved import" tag fitted to the bike by Niddree name plates, this can cost anywhere between $300 - $1000 (if the bikes need no mods) depending on how much the people able to do this for you wish to rip you off or hopefully not. Though being an 88' mdl the bike now is eligible for Vic club reg and wouldn't require any compliance or additional work to be registered, just a usual "letter of approval" from your club prez like any other club reg.
