That's Kevin Mortimer, I was just talking to him yesterday.

:D  Yeah, I was talking to him last weekend, and he told me what his racing number was back in the day.  Wouldn't have had any idea this was him till he told me he was '030'...

 ;D

(I was 12 in 1976 - too young to really take note of who was what number..)   ::)

These aren't much good but should be Tivoli 75.
Gaston Raiher should be in here somewhere.

That'll be 76 Mike, Rahiers not in those shots but I see a couple of mates in the C grade 125 race, B33 and K97.
I'd say that's Hans Applegren on the #12 Husky.

Shot No 4 with the bus in the background I'm pretty sure is Stew McLachlan on an RM250

Could be 76.
Found a bunch of old negatives with Gaston written on the packet and a photo of my son in the carpark.
He was very tiny which made me think 75.

Kevin Mortimer rode Maico's I thought?

He told me a week ago that he was only on maico's later, Suzuki's early.

Kevin had a RH250 in 75 and a RM370 in 76 then a 400 Maico in 77.
Yeah Rahier was there in 76 Mike and they're 76 125's in the pic.
Vaughn how big is the crowd back then! That could be Stew but I think he was still on 125's then..

I had an RM250B I bought off Phil Thew, Noel Harkers old bike....only 6 months old, and I loaned it to Stew for one of these events...not too sure which one though. Too long ago to remeber if he was in open class by then...pretty sure he was c grade.
I can't even remember racing in the sidecars...must have bumped my haed too many times since then :D but I do remember racing against those guys in '77 at ACUSA park and then again in '78 at Broadford.

Vaughn a RM250b is 77 and yes Stewart was riding a 250 by then but don't think he did in 76.

You are right. ( of course) If you look at the start shot with all those letters on the plates you will see the rider we are talking about on the l/h side of screen a couple back. Same style of rider... and colours.
Maybe it's Scott...as in Scott Noidea!! :D

It does look like Stewart and he would've been C grade 125 then so yes you may be right.
I can also see Alex Kidas and Ashley Keidge in that shot.

Stewart told me once he preferred the 250 over the 370. I do remember he would ride the 250 in unlimited. I could be wrong thou it is a long time ago.

The same with the other Phil Thew riders Peter Boyle and Grant Macrae, they often rode a 250 in the open class.

I do remember the day Kec brought out the brand new KTM400 to Tivoli.....it took them all day to get it to fire...even though it had fuel, spark, compression and timing.....not sure what else it needed.
Like was said....it sure 'looked' FINE.

Couple of years later at Nerang.
Have been told that this is Stewart McLaughlan.
Sure was quick.

Were you racing sidecars in 76 at that Aussie Titles meeting?  What number were you?

Not sure I was racing outfits then, not a that level anyway.....does any one have a program.

Of course it was a 125, he was just out of juniors and already carving them up.
