Not happy with the ohlins rear shocks, seat height too high and preload too quick.
Eye to eye measurement is around 430mm and and the code number is KT1578.
Im guessing they are off a early 80s husky but im no expert on this stuff.
Any suggestions on what sorta shocks they are off ???
And what sorta work i should get done to them ???

Yep too long for a Maico. They are 385-390mm.
-
They are from a ktm by that serial number. 385mm is the correct length for 81 Maico shocks, I can shorten them for you internally and theyll also need different shaft end eyes fitted. I've done several sets of these.

flog them then have a new set off me!!!!!
I have two sets left that are built by the factory for that bike to bolt straight on.

Thanks guys for the info really appreciate it.
Really ive got 2 options-either get Johnny O to sort em out
or sell em and get another set.
Weighing my options up right now.. :)

May be interested if you are decide to sell. When you decide PM me, Thanks Col.

Hi , I have the correct ohlins for my 81 ..they are being rebuilt at krooztune atm.
I was wondering if anyone has the top of the line Technoflex piggy backs with clickers and if they are any good ?
I seek the best I can buy , the clickers would mean being able to swap from Vinduro - Mx damping in seconds making my bike more versitile .....
Any input would be welcomed ..thanks Tim

You can get new ohlins with external adjustment. I got my shocks from the US several years ago. They are the correct shock for 81 Maico and have external adjustment. As far as I'm concerned you can't beat ohlins.

What about these shock ;D
