we should aim for 20...that would be great. We have about 15 in the state...somewhere.
There is some interest for riders to come up from SA but not bring their outfits.

the 3 and 4th are on the satdy and sundy and is looking real good for us SA boys, no ASA or club rounds So Im excitrg ;D

First weekend in August (sorry) be great to see some guys up from down south.....

Shelpi it's the 3&4th, the 1st weekend of August as Popeye says. I put a note up on the ASA site....if anyone ever reads that.
Are you doing anything with the 24hr trial?
-
You blokes need to come up with some guns.....gotta keep up with the solo's.....start ringing around.....shit we've got ex world champs, GP stars, AMA stars, Aussie/Kiwi champs.....the list goes on. ;)

We've got one Swiss passenger that could be a starter. I am offering to give a southern team or rider/passenger a bike and a place to stay.
-
What about Geoff Udy is he finally going to get his bike out of the shed???? Daniel Yung said his should be going by then, mines a maybe, but I might not be able to ride so it will be avialable .....
-

-
Hey EML where did you find those cheap flights as the best we can do so far is 500 bucks and that didnt even get us to Nambour only to the sunshine coast ??? cheers pete

Just spoke to an organiser and it looks like we may be able to get 2 rounds of racing each day plus the novelty ride as well, so the chairs will get 5 races for the weekend, I will confirm this as soon as I can.....
-
Are there any other spare outfits if we round up some other teams?
-
We need to work out exactly who is coming. Will have more info after the weekend.
Have you got some more newbies from up your way??

-
What does everyone think about throwing swingers names in a hat instead of keys lol & riders drawing them out to see who they ride with might make racing close and add a bit of fun & experience
-
That's a good plan in my opinion Yungy and one I've contemplated before. As you say, it would (could) bring the field closer together while at the same time giving valuable experience to both riders and passengers.
We are still in a rebuilding phase and need to build on what we have while still keeping it interesting for viewers and sidecar teams.
How about 2 'selection' races followed by a 'team' final, that way it would give the selected rider and passenger some time to gel a bit and then the last race you could race in your normal team to keep some form together and show how it should be done.
Food for thought I reckon.
-
I think there's 10 chairs now.....approax 160 entries so far and growing.....you boys better put a good show on....maybe on Sunday arvo we can get some of those Pro riders having a go?
-
Good luck with the meeting you pesky Queenslanders.....I'd like to have come up, in fact I was coming but more dramas within the fibro walls of Casa del Firko have put a kybosh on my venturing too far from homebase for a while.
-
Can I tempt you with a bottle of Moor-Geist scnapps young fella? would have been good to have Club Kevlar in attendance.
-

thats sounds good, short notice is ok its the norm here at the moment as everything is hanging in a pacerious balance :o I am very humbled by you guys and really hope it all happens, what pedigree is your chair Popeye? ;)
-
76 WASP With a TT600 single a borrowed ride but like I said I may not be able to compete and won't no until Thursday next week, but I think the boys have organised another chair to come up as well, the other one is a XR500 VMC Type copy, so one way or another you should get a ride or swing or both.....
-
Shelpi, we're working hard to get you onto something competitve. We have options so you wont be disappointed so I hope you will make it. You will fit well if you can be flexible. We are a bit more laid back than you S A ers.
What time might you get to Bris, friday early or late?
-
Talking to Karl yesterday and he had no swinger, really this close and not sorted out yet. He was lucky enough to find one. I did offer to ride for him and let him swing, but would not be fair to the rest of the field. I mean the next race on the line waiting for me to finish ;D
-
Cheers guys, this is a very humbling experience, thank you for all the effort you have put into this, I am old school and have done a few tours of duty in Queensland and you will find that I am pretty flexable and laid back (when I get the chance) I even like the beer :o ,So flights are booked and you poor buggers will havta put up with me ;) sent ya (emailed EML) the flights, so lock up ya booze and bikes here I come ;)
-
eight more sleeps yeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Great to hear someone has had the gumption to get up here for this fantastic event. Wish more could have made it.
BTW we don't run ASA rules so you will have a win if you're good enough...pay the correct amount to the right people that is ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'll sort a swag an a towel , but not doing fresh undies or socks....you can suffer in them :o :'(
-
Thanx mate, tried to get some more croweaters up your way but didnt happen, there loss ;) so how much for a 2nd place and who do I pay ;D so your more like the Morgan rules :o yep no worries suffered in me jocks for 3days at the Nats(slept ina swag ina creek), you probably wont get the smell outa QLD for a few days after I leave. I am as excited as a puppy and yep I will piss on the floor if ys pat me.
cheers cant wait ;) :) :D ;D 8)
-
So you're only allowed one carry on bag, are you going to wear your boots, shoulder pads and nylons? OK, we'll look for a guy in full race kit, holding his helmet in one hand and an overnight bag in the other.
Just so we don't miss you or mix you up, what colour helmet will it be??
-
Vaughn, TMBill puts all his riding gear on at the international airport when he is over his baggage limit.... ;)
-
I thought there might more than one VMXer standing at the airport with their kit on, maybe we better check their back numbers before letting them jump in the ute!! :) :)
-
;) :) :D ;D :o Ill be the one with the number 47 on his back donned in red and black with a stupid grin on its face and a puddle on the floor with flies buzzing around wondering what to do next looking like a red back under the toilet seat but only shorter ???

Results: Race1. Jamie and Wayne EML/GR650
Dave And Daniel EML/XS750
Popeye and Marshal Wasp/TT600
Race2. Dave and Daniel EML/750
Adam and Vaughn Wasp/GR650
Dave and Not Sure DR 500 home made
Race3. Jamie and Wayne EML/GR650
Peter and Carl Wasp/XS650
Not sure
Few break downs and crashes, Adam and Vaughn crashed in the first race but where ok bar a broken brake lever, I lost Marshall on the first lap in the second race and in the 3 rd race Dave Mattock and Daniel done the clutch in the EML and rolled backwards down drunks hill and went upside down.
Jamie and Wayne's bike broke down in the 2nd race with a faulty lanyard, Ronnie Ashes big EML through the chain in practise and bent the push rod for the clutch, Steve and Ash on Nick Higgs EMl/Norton had trouble keeping the bike right way up and Ash had a shocker and stepped off the back 3 times in one day, they took him away in the white wagon but he's all ok..
Shelpi rode my bike in race 3 and got a 2nd so I hope he had a good time, my back just doesn't like Pre 75 bike anymore man am I sore and I only did practise and one race...
Hope to get my Pre 90 bike going soon as possible..
-
Good report Shelpi and Popeye. Thanks.
Pity we didn't get the full field but got 10 for the first race.
Had the biggest crash in a long while in the 1st race. Over the bars and up-side down. Very lucky as we were on it. The gas I mean.
Very lucky in 2nd when the top dogs went out with elec probs and second was a good result on behalf of Jason, Adams brother who passed away earlier this year. Ad wanted to put on a good show for him and he did for sure.
Last race was a disaster after Shelpi filled us in during practise and then we through the chain on a very tight right, we had trouble with that right all day, and found the axle had come loose. Hard to develope a new engine and keep an eye on all the other bits and pieces.
Great week end all over and as I said ...SAers missed out except for Shelpi. Thanks again Mate!
