Is it just me or would the speedo not read over 299 even when you could hear the revs still climbing? Just how quick were they doing when changing into top gear was done at 280+ ?

The manufacturers kept the speedos to 299 because they were convinced owners would try to go over 300, no never ever. As fast as the Kwaka is that Audi is bloody fast. If you go full screen the trucks are doing 80k's not stationary and the guide posts are exactly 100m apart (1 passes every second at full noise).
Note how nobody ever hogs the left lane, you get in deep $hit for doing that on the Autobahn
