What about the kick starter? Where do you get one of those? Off something else? J

Jerry, the kick starter is off the M199B. The last Bulto made. It was standard on that model.

Love the drill holes, makes them lighter, I new a fellow that drilled out the frame on a Al bandito 360 just to make it lighter  ???

Yrjo has a thing for lightness. Not surprising when you consider that the bikes of that era weighed in excess of 200 lbs. if you have a look in a back issue of VMX he describes the restoration of the bike on which he won his first world championship, the weight saving on that bike is very subtle but significant.

He also got Bultaco to agree to having Walter Luft remove a bunch of wt off one off his works bikes in mid/late 70s, only to find it completely changed the wt distribution & stuffed the handling. Expensive mistake. Wonder if he took that into account on this one??

JC, the lessons Yrjo learned from Walters weight saving efforts were put to good use on the bike Yrjo restored.

Indeed he is. An ex UK top 5 rider before studies got in the way. Mika now works at CERN on the LHC as a particle physicist. See here: https://phonebook.cern.ch/phonebook/#id=PE721979 (https://phonebook.cern.ch/phonebook/#id=PE721979)

P.S. Are you Graham W?
