Just would like to know your opinion on how long will cylinder on my RM 125 last. I have one cylinder on its last oversize(56) that is on the bike and a spare one on second(55) oversize. How many seasons can i expect these cylinders to last? I dont race, just ride for fun one, two weekends a month. I use Castrol TTS at 30:1. Just looking at buying one more cylinder for good price. Should i bother geting another one or will what i have keep me going for a while?

Tomas, that question relies on so many variables:
Is it running nicely and tuned well,
Is the bike warmed up properly before giving it what for.
What pistons are you using.
If you are not racing then it can last a long time, its not as if you are trying to look after a chrome bore....
What model RM is it.

Thank You Brett
It is 79 RM 125. It sounds, running and pulling ok and gets warmed up before rides. I have a new carburetor on it with stock jetting.Cylinder had fresh bore about a year ago and has Wossner piston in it.
I am not expert in tuning but i am happy with how the bike rides. It could probably do with some fine tuning. I want to keep the bike for long time and just wondering how long they last if you look after them. Spare cylinder has fresh bore and have spare Wossner piston for it too.

Well Thomas, in my opinion you have chosen the best piston possible, should last you a while.
Maybe you allready know this tip, When i clean the filter, whilst putting it back on -put a smear of grease around the face where it mates to the airbox....

Contaminates are your the biggest enemy (dust, dirt ect). Keep your air filter clean at all times, and use a good quality oil.
Don't use a pod filter swinging in the breeze.

Have the cylinder plated with nicasil and it will last as long as you have pistons that size.
-
Lozza, are you saying plate the cast iron with nicasil?

yes
