As Pete has n't mastered the fine art of posting photos on Oz VMX, he has asked me to put these up to show you of his progress.

WOW...Where does he get them uber exotic un obtainable billet machined parts from?
-
Any number of places in the states sell that stuff, a set of triples cost about $500, Les can supply the brake backplate, I've picked 1 of them up in the states a few years ago & they work great
Interesting paint job on the frame. Will look forward to seeing more photos

Very NICE CZ bling Pete
What is the clear coat on the frame looks real Factory Works Falta copy ;D ;D ;D
Cheers
-
Looks great. Like the frame.
-
Gents,
Thanks for the thumbs up. Never worked on a CZ before so on a big learning curve.
The triple clamps actually came through this forum as slightly used.
New brake arm will let us use a standard modern KTM Husaberg chain guide block.

Oh and the frame is clear powder coated as well.

Nice work Pete & Carl. Quite handy having a son with access to all that machinery and the talent to put it to good VMX use as well as a good old man to help finance things.
Might have to get some drawings together for Carl to do a couple of foreign orders for me... Does he charge in cases of beer like the old man?
-
Pete,
Not likely. He doesn't really drink but has an expensive playboy lifestyle. Works in USD and AUD at the present :D

The CZ is now alive. Started 4th kick on the new electronic ignition from Les at VMX Unlimited. Motor runs like a clock. Still running the dry clutch and will see how that goes.
Will bring it along (not quite finished) to the Heaven Show day at Penrith.

I had a closer look at this bike at the Show'n'shine on Sunday and loved the frame paint treatment. It's been taken back to bare metal, the welds heated with the oxy to get that hand built look and the bare metal clear coated. It looks great. Frank Stanborough has a similar paint treatment on his Mojo framed Matchless pre 65er.
-
Sir Firko,
Right you are with the frame treatment. A whole lot of time and detail went into this bike over the rebuild and it is great to see the appreciation that the bike has had already!
I will upload some more photos of the nearly finished bike soon.
Thanks Carl.
-
Yes it sure does look great alright.
Sexy, very sexy frame job.
You blokes remind me of the father and son team from Tassie, on my kitchen rules.
Except you blokes are Trend-setters 8)
very nice bike
-
great looking bike pete workmanship second to none
-
Mick and CRs,
Thanks very much for the kind words. The son part of the rebuild team has just urged me to write to the forum members and let them know that he is the creative workman on this job.
He wants me to forget to say that I am the financial backer.
Spose every good race team has to have a mix of both. Lucky he can ride too.
See you at Bulledelah
Pete and Carl
PS the motor runs better than what the frame looks. Sweet :D

Test run on the weekend just gone.
After running it we dropped the main on the new 36mm Mikuni from 260 (safe) to a 250 then raised the clip on the needle one above the middle position. Better again but not running lean.
