Driver reqd for slow old Wasp with newly fitted GR650 motor...good for 39HP :D
So after getting my licence fixed up and entry in, I get a call from my allotted driver to say he's hurt and wont be there....
SO...who's up for it??
-
If I was going I'd be up for it for sure after riding Lisa's Wasp which I really enjoyed
-
You wont be there Simo that's a shame I have someone interested so should be ok now.
You're welcome to have another gone on the Wasp anytime though.
-
I'd luv to, but reality is the main problem, but still its a nice thuoght ;)

I did put a notice on the ASA site but got no replies. Was even willing to put up some flight money but didn't even get a nibble.
If you think you could make an event up here let me know. I think you can get flights from $69 if you book early.

We have events coming up at Echo Valley and Conondale. Both are iconic Aussie tracks that you need to ride and both are VMX events.
I reckon we can get you a drive on something if you would like to represent your stae up here. Might even get you a half decent passenger :D
-
9 Sidecars entered, bit wet out home so l hope you've got your paddle tyres on, will be very entertaining.....
-
send the chairs out first to cut up the track ;)
you guys are such great sports ;D
-
Sounds good to me :D trouble is we might not make it back, extremely wet...

It's been run and won for another year and once again Mcmurdo/Hollaway on thier EML GR Suzuki cleaned up with a 1-2-1 with only a front puncture in race 2 blotting their sheet.
Next was Mattock/Rotheram on Daves EML Yamaha XS and third I think was either Laman/Stumhke on the Ron Ash sponsored EML Yam XS or Popeye Cooper/Higgs on Nicks CR500 air cooled VMC
MY developing Wasp GR650 went very well on it's 1st outing also with a new driver in Dan Yung. It's 27 years since Dans dad and I raced an EML Yamaha XS so it was great to get the chance to assist another newby cut his teeth. We were never far from the action finishing with a 4th and a 5th but DNFed the last when the starter packed up and we couldn't clutch start no matter how hard we tried.
The track went from being virtually unrideable from rain during the week, to being fantastic by weekends end.
So roll-on Conondale

Great event, we had 9 Sidecars on the line, a couple of crashes but no one got hurt, it was great to see some new people having a go, some of the chairs had a bit of trouble in the mud some didn't, I'd like to thank Nick Higgs for the invite to ride the VMC CR500, great thing to ride Nick just needs to get fitter so we can have a bit more of a go, or I need to wear ear plugs so I can't hear him telling me to slow down, I offered my driving services to EML as we're the only pair that could probably run with Jamie and Wayne, he rode with Daniel Yung in the end which was good to see, as how often would you get to swing for father Boyd then his Daniel 20 years later good job and well done, another new comer was young Chris who rode with Daniel, and Dave Burner who rode with Marshall Shaw, if I can get some pics from some one I will get them put up here..
Can't wait to get my wasp going and there are a few others not far from being ready....
-
I thought that too Popeye but the Wasp had just had the GR motor fitted and it needs a fair bit of sorting yet.
As I said....roll-on Conondale.
