Title: Identify wheels and airbox
Post by: FAT-TOY on June 06, 2013, 07:02:10 pm
Picked up a pair of wheels and a airbox during the week along with a Suzuki T125 stinger.  The wheel hubs are a bit rusted and the seller thinks that they might be Maico. The sprocket is a hell of a size.  The airbox looks like it is Maico I will put up a couple of photos.

Front wheel looks like early-mid 70s Japanese.

AT1, twin-shock DT175, TS185, or maybe XL175.

Have a close look at the inside of the brake drum - Suzuki will have the Suzuki "S", Yamaha will have the three digit prefix.

What diameter is the rim? looks like 18", so my guess is late AT1MX (aka AT3M). Will have 248 prefix cast in if it is.

Edit: I'm told I'm wrong, and that it's Maico. The lacing pattern is odd for a Japanese wheel (spokes are all 'inners').
