Title: Rm 250 T Forks
Post by: crabO on May 21, 2013, 01:15:57 pm
I have the forks out for new seals and a gold valve Kit. Forks are off, drained, caps off & springs out - what next to separate the leg from the tube ?. The 10mm allen bolt at the bottom of each leg is very tight but just spins. Please don't tell me I need a rattle gun or a super long socket extension ?

Your best bet is to put the springs and caps back on put the cap on some timber or something that wont damage it and compress it then try the Allen key to undo it that way you don't need to make something to hold it from spinning if you can get them by using the pressure of the springs to hold them.

I used the squashed 20mm square tube in a vise to get mine apart  :)

Just follow the link in Nobby's post above and have a read, it'll explain everything. I used the square tube idea myself as well...
