Well i just come in from the shed and i'm rooted . I pulled the CR80 engine down ,The big end is siezed , so i need to rebuild the crank and main bearings and reseal and that will do it . And i'm putting a YZ80S together . I just pulled the engine down and i have never seen a more forked one .The big end has about 12mm slop in it ,the needle out of the carb is bent and has been living in the reed cage ???.It would have been interesting to see this running but with all the YZ80 crap i've got i'm building up one good bike so that will be good . I've decided that i'm gonna update the YZ400E to 1981 suspension ,43mm front end and a New rear shock as i dont think a 465 will make me any faster .
-
But it's fun isn't it? Nothing like a good garage session. I've just pulled the engine out of the TM125, gotta get the cylinder rebored and mod it to take the big carb etc, the RM125M is up on the stand to be pulled apart to the frame to clean the sand and crap from CD5 out of it, and the latest addition, the IT175G, is also going down to the frame for a full going over and clean up. And if I can get enthused tomorrow I'll clean and lube the 05 YZ - haven't touched it since the over the bars episode 8 weeks ago...
-
Whats the plan wth IT175 Geame
-
What are ya up KB
-
Fitted the pipe i got at CD5 to the125 and had a fair crack at a slab ,Hic :P

I need to do some work on the bikes before the Eno Classic in a couple of weeks. The YZ125J has been running rough and I think its the stator, I have a nos 1 on the way from usa, hopefully that will get her back to full power. The YZ125G still needs tuning, it isnt hitting hard, it just seem a bit flat all round. The YZ125E needs the exhaust pipe repaired and a general going over. The big job is the YZ125X, I need to strip down the motor and replace the mains and crank seals, a new rod kit, re-sleeve the barrel and a new piston kit. I replace all the seals of the bottom end because she leaks oil. The exhaust pipe is in 2 pieces so I have to get that fixed. The Noguchi 125 needs a new petrol tank cap and tap, and carb shut-off valve seat and a smaller pilot jet. Better get to it.

How did that 80's shit song go?
"Never ending story" CR500 Ignition problems just for a change, but should be a goer this week when i get some parts from USA.
some small mods to the trailer so i can make the bikes a bit more stable. when this is all done it time to pull the top end off the KTM. i also need to do a tidy up of the shed as i have no idea where things are are in so many locations and find myself buying things occassionally that i later find i already had (well at least stock levels remain)

Talk about teething problems.
First ride after resto
Throttle jams full open..fixed, no front brake...fixed
Second ride
Bike absolutely flies, suspension fabulous, brakes and throttle brilliant and so what does it do....loses F...en third gear. I had a shift fork repaired ( built up with nickel bronze ) and i suspect this has failed.
Have motor out on floor but am working interstate this week so it looks unlikely i will be racing at Glenbawn this week.Am going to ride my 530 in practice so i suppose all is not lost
Frustrated after all the money and time put into restoring it....grrr

Suzuki TM125, starting to strip for parts assesment and rebuild.
Yamaha XT500 race bike, needs a weld on the swingarm and a cam bearing.
Yamaha XT500 second race bike, need too build it!
KTonda 200 and CRF230, need to ride them!
Several other XT's that just need time to think about.
And the bathroom..................the reason for all the hold ups. Don't ever consider renovations if you own bikes!

brentj...your missus obviously isn`t as angry as mine
The rum drinker says " Get the laundry tap fixed or i will call a plumber. " Shes continually complaining about having to bring the garden hose in to fill up the washing machine. For christs sake the tap only broke last christmas.
So Wednesday i strip off all tiles, wall and ceiling sheets, re-run plumbing and electrical, sheet and set walls and ceiling and fix cornice
Thursday fit architraves, tile to 1500mm high, fit new taps, sand plaster, paint and fit washing machine and tub.
She gets home at 6pm that night and says " About time...can i have one of your cans " Bitch

I've palmed off a resto to Dodgey, he is keen 'cause its yellow( thanks mate!). I then told him i will paint all my bikes yellow so he will fix them all!
Im doing the same with Doc as well.

Ted, my wife has shown great patience on this but then I've been dragged away to build her stained glass workshop under the house (6X3M, lined, insulated, aircon and all other mod cons!).
It's sad to think that the cost of the bathroom would have finished all my current projects and still leave me with change! And that's with no cost for labour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll be glad when it's done. (Mind you the 1.8X1.2M spa bath is just so nice after a ride or race day!)
Cheers
Brent

Whats this, Collector Anomynous? Will I feel better after 'fessing up? Is there a cure? Do I want to be cured?
DOING
My main focus is the Cappra 360. Waiting on some bits outa the US, and getting the engine mounts fabricated and welded. Should progress quickly after that. ::).

Also doing, but less intensely, A Yammy MX250. In fact have several. I'm doing a garage queen resto, but thinking of a race bike and making up an MX360 after assembling some additional bits.
WAITING
A YZ250D complete and waiting resto.
Assembling bits for a 1971 Yamaha YZ250 reed valve Torsten Hallman
Replica. This should/could ::) happen fairly quickly. This will probably be the next to happen. Isn't she the prettiest, most purposefull Yammy you ever saw? 8)

THINKING ABOUT
Got most of the bits for a RT1MX and thinking of doing a represenative period 'owner modified' club racer (rather than a race winning 'RT from Hell' ;D). Got enough bits to do the same for an RT enduro (for Vinduro?)http://
(http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l187/mx250a/e07c_3.jpg)
DREAMING OF
In doing the Cappra I've ended up with spares bits, enough to make a 360 6 speed enduro motor. If I came across a single port chassis......
Ain't she the prettiest period enduro 8).
Okay, I've 'fessed up, when do I start feeling better? ;D

It's back to work after CD5. I'm about to get rolling on the following:
1: Finishing the Hindall Ducati.
2: Getting started on my Cheney Yamaha which will be my CD6 feature bike.
3: Putting my new eBay buy, a '73 CZ 250 together to offer for sale at CD6.
4: Finish the Suzuki TS90 pit bike
-
I confess none of my projects are or ever will be finished ;)............always find another something to fiddle about with on them ::)
Really and honestly nearly everybody here is the same huh!!!! As agent 86 would say "and loving it"..............
Ted nice building plan but well, pigs arse it is going to work on time.. 8) Cheers Tim
