As the engine fitted is 14 years old, why wouldn't you fit a KTM550 engine from the same era. They were still available up to 1998 and were as good, if not better than the Honda engine regarding the power delivery.

Might be more Honda motors laying around than KTM ones.  He might like Honda motor's.

It's a nice thing but I agree with evo550 that it's a bit over the top in the colour department. If I'd have built it I'd have done it Honda Red. The wheel treatment looks a bit backyard rattle can to me with painted spokes ::). It'd be a nice thing to ride I'd imagine.

MXA had an article on one they built a few months back, I think the Honda motor fitted perfect except for moving one engine mount, It's almost made for the chassis....

A couple of the local modern MX guys here have had the powdercoater powdercoat there rims, spokes and hubs in all sorts of different colours. Fairly labour intensive when it comes to doing the spokes. Can't say that I'm a fan but different strokes for different folks as they say. I sort of like this bike though. Certainly a contrast to what else is available
