It has come to my attention that the Magoo No-16 bike that Bruce help me build is on the market. This was basically the last build.
The bike currently resides with Shane in QLD.
One of my buddies has suggested that we (11 of us) form an alliance and purchase the bike so its never ridden and only displayed at VMX events,
so this is the idea that was put forward to me.
11 of us chip in $500.00 each to meet the purchase price of $5,500.00 .
One of us could securely store the bike or it could rotate resting places.
I will get 11 tee shirts made commemorating the occassion , for the individuals who decided they would like to come onboard. These tee shirts can be worn when we meet to display the bike as a group or individually.
(For Example) if a group like say club kevlar , wish to purchase one share but four club kevlar members pay for that one share i will provide four tee shirts for that group. But if the idea gets of the ground i will be only offering that to established groups or companies.
If the idea gets off the ground , once the bike is purchased it will actually belong to Bruces family. Your share following purchase is not transferable.
Personally i think its a great idea and the bike is a good and very positive piece of Australian VMX history , just like Bruce.
At this moment I'm not in a position to purchase the bike outright and i would if i could , but i can certainly buy a $500.00 share.
At this stage we have 4 definate starters.
"You could be standing around this magnificent piece of machinery at the Magoo bar at Classic Dirt 10 in your limited edition tee shirt , telling very average jokes "
Any thoughts on the matter or interest in a share purchase would be appreciated.
Please be aware that the bike is currently on the market and might sell before we can get it.
Kind Regards

It has been purchased by a Sydney resident so hopefully it will show its head at CD.

Don"t stress it Shane I am sure it's gone to a good home.

I've got a different take on this than some others, I'd much rather see the bike being used and raced as it was originally intended than on display as a static reminder to us all that Magoo's not here any more. It's a bit hard to check with him but I reckon Bruce would much rather see the bike in action than as a shrine. Just my 2 bobs worth.

Granted. But I think he would also have appreciated ownership of it to revert back to his family which it effectively would have, directly after the purchase. It didn't happen so let's move on. Thanks to the four guys that put their hand up unselfishly for their kind gesture.

All good
It will be good to see the bike getting around.
Static display or race bike , doesnt really matter as long its around

Oops.
Sincere apologies to all concerned.
I've only just come across this thread and didn't know about this proposal.
Bike will definitely be available for display. however, it will also be prepped to be race ready.

No apology necessary. Enjoy.
