Title: '77 YZ frame
Post by: Dirtbike BrainwashedMike on May 07, 2013, 06:14:34 am
Hi all
I'm chasing a YZ400D frame or anything the same. A damaged frame with a good back section where seat and rear mudguard mount would be OK. I'm interested in any or all that is available. Located on the NSW Central Coast and will be at the Heaven's 2nd round at Canberra all going to plan.
Thanks Michael

Might be able to help you , can you post a pic of the damaged bits?

You may even be able to salvage the main parts of the frame out of an IT250 / 400 D or E. I think they just had an extra brace and the rear loop for the tool bag.
The yz400D & E and the YZ250D basicly have the same frame.

Just keep in mind that the "E" frame is chrome molly and not aloud  as a pre 78 . most club events it will be ok but anyone could protest at major events . Iain

I had heard the frame were basically the same for a few models, just didn't know which ones. I didn't know about the material upgrade in the E models, thanks Iain. I'll arrange some photo today.
Thanks all for the input

Hi Sorelegs
I googled 2Y5. I think its a YZ125 F or G but can't say for sure. If I learn the frames are the same, I'll be in touch
thanks for the reply
