Well done. That is beautiful. Probably even more exiting than coming home with the latest model. You must be hangin to get your boots and helmet on.

Thats looking awesome smed  8) 8) 8) bloody good effort especially considering what you started with  :)

Ive had this one for a few years and never ridden the bloody thing  ::) Its up for a make over , its mechanicaly good but Farkin ugly and at the last count 165 different shades of red / pink  ::)

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/tmbill/Bills%20bikes/Billsbikes150.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/tmbill/media/Bills%20bikes/Billsbikes150.jpg.html)

What really shits me with it is the previous owner had the motor rebuilt by a top bloke over here who went to the trouble of powdercoating the crankcases and clutch cover , mag cover but then bolted back on the shitty cylinder and different shade head FFS  ::)

How hard would it be to have vapour blasted ( as per smeds) or powdercoated / painted the top end before reassembly . Now its gotta come apart again to get finished properly .

If mine looks half as good as yours Smed i will be a very happy Honda hoarder  ;D

Can i ask what brake stay arm you are using ? it looks great , way better than the original  8)

I see a lot of potential there Bill, Simons forks, Fox shocks. Piss that seat cover off vapour blast the motor and then leave it like that I reckon. Don't chrome the pipe or get black rims either. J

Thats a beauty,
I am doing a 125 right now, started off with about the same funny enough - my lower fork legs cam allready polished too and i have also blasted the barrel and head and left it bare too. I am using TLS and 21 inch front wheel from an xl.

Where and what shocks are you using?

Cheers

Bill get stuck into that bike :) The brake stay arm is from VMX racing, the slots are milled, it's a trick bit of kit,The shocks are Marty Tripes/Noleen jobs,I am keen to try them out,I read good things about them on Marks swapmeet forum,I was in two minds about doing the blast job on the top end coz I reckon the red motor is what makes these bikes look so cool but I like it now the bike is done & I guess by the comments that you guys like it too? :)

Nice resto Smed,  must be a lot of parts left over I could wrap around that motor you know I have in the shed, or I could put it in the bighorn roadrace frame. Red and green would look good together dont you think. Col.

A mate who has them on his bike made them for me out of PVC plumbers pipe,he has sanded the shiny finish off as well & you would never know what they were originally intended for, they are a bloody tight snap on fit & don't really need the tape,I just put it on after seeing it on the factory bikes & thought it looked cool,it must have taken him a while to cut out all the bits & pieces ;), he also made the alloy top & front motor mounts,I have found a guy on US ebay who does alloy rear engine mounts & a whole heap of other trick alloy bits for red devil's so a set of them are on there way too :)

Smed,

Hope she goes as well as she looks - you got to be happy with the out come...
I should consider giving you the job of doing the Cutts bike if your interested ... 18 years have now past since I found it, 13 of those were spent chasing down the forks -  all I need now is the shock and to find the brake stay  :)

Cheers
Rob

I am a big fan of the black rims on the right bike like gold ones they can really make them pop.

Nada, if you ring Rhy`s Evans in Colac, they should have old tins of paint, back in the day when I was put the new Honda`s together, tins of the original paints
can with each bike. You would that they have the new old stock above the office area new spare parts loft. check them out. or they may have put it all in the back shed.
