Any news? J
-
Not much to report yet, other than there'll be plenty of rocks. ;)
There'll most likely be two loops - the standard vinduro affair, and a supplementary one for anyone with a registered bike.
Keep checking the Vinduro Victoria website, and if you haven't done so already get yourself on our (e)mailing list.

Ok, I can confirm that the loop will be about 7 kms or so in length. It'll have some tricky bits but everything will be "do-able". There'll also be a much longer additional loop for those with registered bikes and a motorcycle licence.
The entry form and an info sheet have been sent to everyone on the Vinduro Victoria mailing list. If you haven't received them, and would like to, send me a PM.
See you there.

Went out to the venue today to offer some help setting up, but wouldn’t you know it, they had already finished.
Dam, that left me with nothing to do but to go out and ride a test lap.
It is only a short course but I enjoyed every bit of it, nice bushland, challenging in some spots but not overly difficult. The only hill to speak of is easier than last years Tallarook and the feared rocks weren’t all that bad.
It’s very sandy / loamy, dust won’t be a problem
I had a ball riding it. It should be a great day.
The start of the loop…

Heaps of quality parking is available…

Be there or be square.

Did you change that tyre while you were there?? ;D

Thanks for the preview GMC.
Please note that an updated entry form for this event has been sent to everyone on our mailing list. Use this one, and bring correct change on the day, or else we'll get GMC to park your vehicle!

That’s Rustedstud that’s doing the undercar checks, I usually park much worse than that.
He’s also offering a Valet parking service, please be sure to lock your hubs in before handing him your keys.
I’m looking forward to getting back there and riding it again, the boys did a great job setting up. Steve took his bobcat out there and groomed a level parking lot (much to Rustedstud’s disgust) and he also dragged up some firewood to build some bonfires.
They did a good job marking it out too, it was easy to find my way around the track, obviously Drakie had nothing to do with putting up the arrows. :D
They also have a good Red plate ride planned as well so those with Classic Reg or Rec. Reg. will get the full experience.

Oh thats just great! You just HAD to comment. 'So far so good'.......same words the whale used while he plummeted towards the Earth without a parachute. S'pose you'll be out with your camera too you harbinger of doom you >:(

Rain won’t bother me, no siree (won’t take me long to get back home)
My trusty little KDX is still in bits at the moment, stripping them down always seems to be the easy bit doesn’t it.
And not a moment too soon, I can feel the play in the big end and the piston has some big grooves worn into it from the inlet bridges.
My favorite at the Pancake Parlour is the Canadian, with the works. So this weekend I have borrowed a Can Am, and hopefully it works. (have already noticed one shock is weeping)
I plan on riding it like it’s not mine so it should be a good day
-
Uh oh....did you borrow the bike from Pancake Hammond?
I'd've thought the favourite was the pancake stack..........

Don't worry at Geoff, Dave's last few outings on a CanAm have been most successful ::) you'll be fine :D

Another nice day today, a bit cool but nice clear skies.
So far so good ;D

Dangerous Dave was at the venue late this arvo cursing family commitments on Sunday that will see me thrashing his bike for him.
He said there were a lot of campers there already and all were enjoying themselves.
He sent these snaps from his phone.
I beleive this is the signpost on the road to the venue

The recently formed VERi motorcycle club ran its first Tallarook Vinduro today and by all accounts it was a great success.
VERi. Vintage Enduro Riders incorporated.
A club made by Enduro riders for Enduro riders and their vintage machines. Being MA affiliated means we can get a better deal for licensed owners with registered machines, be they Rec reg, Classic reg, or full reg.
Today’s event had a short special test type course of about 3-4 K’s long that gave everyone a warm up and kept those with unregistered bikes busy cutting laps and those with registered bikes took advantage of the State Forest loop rumoured to be around 50 K’s.
The special test course had a good variety of terrain for a short course and helped teach people how to flick between the trees. While it chopped up a little the high usage actually formed some good little berms that had you railing some of the corners nicely. There were a few rocks that climbed out of the ground on the hill but it was mostly negotiable. It was easy enough to conquer if you approached it properly but it was much easier to make a mistake that would see you stumbling.
You couldn't miss the entry to the property...

The event had 72 entries, oddly most seemed interested in Drakies Dribble at the riders briefing.

A big thank you to everyone that made it happen, Steve Taylor who took his Bobcat along to make a parking area, did an excellent job but the event was so popular there were still people parking on the road. Steve Young, RustedStud and others who helped setting out the course, both on the property and in the forest.
They used minimal arrows in the forest and I thought it was very easy to find the way around, well it would have been easy if I hadn't of missed a turn but I still ended up back at the Parc Ferme, wasn't a problem for me and I finished 45 minutes ahead of the rest of the group. ::)
And lastly a big thank you to property owner Peter for letting us rip up his block of land.
They are already talking of Tallarook 2014 next May and they have bigger and better plans already.

Bruce on the Monty (who is the man to go trail riding with as he takes a bag of mixed lollies with him and he very politely shares)
Peter (the landowner) on the Maico behind.
Dangerous Dave’s CanAm, my sponsored ride for the day.
Steve on a CanAm
Paul on the Rokon
Next event is a Red Plate ride in the Ballan area on June 23rd
So start thinking about getting your bike Classic registered, It's only $70.00 a year and there will be more and more events for these bikes coming up.

Thumb up to that, it was a great day, loved the loop which i did go round many times and conditions were perfect. I even scored a ride on Jimbo's maico..how they turn in.... ;) A huuuggee thank you to the landowner (who is as we read is explaining to wife "the ruts will dissapear after the first rain... dont worry about it") :D
