Post by: firko on April 23, 2013, 09:49:26 am
These don't come along very often. The perfect recipient for that spare OSSA motor you've got laying around   (Matcho Mick come on down 8))
                                                                                                        (http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k495/firko2/04Apr22-OSSA-DRM-Frame_zps2deb231e.jpg) (http://s1112.photobucket.com/user/firko2/media/04Apr22-OSSA-DRM-Frame_zps2deb231e.jpg.html)

Ossa DMR frame for sale. Frame comes with original gas tank and seat, swingarm, rear axle and chain adjusters. It had a Kawasaki motor in it, great handling chassis for a short track project or restoration. Located in North Georgia.

$1500 OBO.

Also have a spare DMR gas tank for sale. It's an aftermarket copy of a DMR tank, fiberglass with 2 petcocks and cap, center mounting hole. It's in good shape, no holes or repairs, white gelcoat ready to paint. $150

I believe Dick Mann designed the above DMR frames but they were made at the factory in Spain. Later versions appear to have been made by Champion in California.

Excerpt from a post on the OSSA Yahoo forum....
Not a lot is known about the production of the bikes. I ask John Taylor and
Dick Mann about the number built and they didn't know. So even the basic info
about how many were built is not known at this time. At the end of 1971 a friend
of mine went on a quest to buy a new DMR and was told by OSSA dealer after
dealer that the factory had stopped building them. After a lot of calls he
finally found one on a dealer's floor. He claimed it was one of the last ones.
The plate number was 144. My guess is the total number sold was not more than
160 or so. Of course this does not account for those that never went through a
dealership. For example, since Gerald was being sponsored by the factory his
bike came straight from the factory and did not have the frame plate. There is
no way to know how many were sold or given to riders this way.
