I was looking at them yesterday for my RZ project and i went to the local spoked wheel repair guy to get a quote. He said that they were shit and would prefer not to use them and use his own ones.

I bought two sets (F & R). They are not the same quality as OEM but do fit and they actually supplied two wheels wworth of spokes and nipples in front set ( ??? 8)) they spoked up OK. They are OK for the price.

Can you still buy oem ones?

I saw some nos ones on eBay a while back and they were real expensive

I buy spokes from Buchanan's http://www.buchananspokes.net/
Make sure you have all the measurements ready when you call. The lady on the phone will give you the root canal... ;)

I bought those spokes, they are ok but not great and starting to oxidise after about 2 years. Wont use them again.

My rims and spokes came from Buchanan's. Bloody awesome. Hard to say anything else.

Buchanan's are the best quality spokes by far period. If you ever go to the states, pop in to Azusa Cali and see the crew from Buchanans. Take spoke samples with you and get a set(s) made. After your finished fluffing around in states, pick em up before you fly home. Or you can ring them......it's slightly cheaper, especially if keep going onto Vegas. I've had sets made in Oz, and the quality doesn't does match, nor does the price. I'm all for buying Australian but when it comes to certain things.......you have maximise quality and save cash.

Do you need to purchase anything in addition to the kit?

Cleaners etc?

The Caswell kit comes with almost all you need.

I am told that finishing with chromating (even transparent) will greatly increase resistance to oxidation over time.
